    What makes it great:

    • Lots of different services possible
    • Lots of rolling stock being able to use
    • Great landscape (From the bustle of München to the remote villages and into the alpine towns of Upper Bavaria)
    • Complex service pattern
    • Commuter rail and regional services
    • First German (partially) diesel route
    • First it is a fast paced route changing to a windy mountainous route

    Services

    • RB 55/56/57 (München Hbf – Bayrischzell / München Hbf – Lenggries / München Hbf – Tegernsee) operated by the BRB – Oberland
      • These have a comlex service pattern:
        • The entire train stack leaves coupled together from München Hbf
        • They run as one unit as far as Holzkirchen stopping at Donnersbergerbrücke, Harras, Siemenswerke (only Monday to Friday) and Solln (only on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays)
        • In Holzkirchen the last multiple unit is uncoupled – this is the RB 55 for Bayrischzell
          • This one leaves after the leading units have cleared the station
          • In Schliersee the driver has to switch cabs in order to continue on
        • The leading units leave Holzkirchen for Tegernsee and Lenggries
        • In Schaftlach the rear unit is uncoupled – this one is the RB 57 for Tegernsee
        • The RB 57 leaves in the opposite direction as the RB 56 for Lenggries it has just uncoupled from
      • Repeat just in a different recoupling order for the return journey to München
      • These run every hour[IMG]
    • RB 58 (München Hbf – Rosenheim (as far as Holzkirchen)) operated by the BRB – Mangfalltalbahn
      • These run every hour
    • S 3 (Mammendorf – Holzkirchen (from Deisenhofen via Sauerlach and Otterfing to Holzkirchen)) operated by the S-Bahn München
      • These run every 20 minutes
    • S 7 (Kreuzstraße – Wolfratshausen (from Hackerbrücke via Donnersbergerbrücke as far as Solln)) operated by the S-Bahn München
      • These run every 20 minutes
    • S 20 (München Pasing – Höllriegelskreuth (from Pasing via Heimeranplatz as far as Solln)) operated by the S-Bahn München
      • These run every 20 minutes during peak hours

    Rolling stock

    • The RB 55/56/57
      • A variety of Alstom Coradia LINT 54 and 81 diesel multiple units
      • Usually 3 BR 622 coupled together for the different destinations
      • Sometimes 4 Br 622 with 2 units heading for Lenggries or Tegernsee
      • Here the last carriage doesn’t even fit into the platform at Donnersbergerbrücke
      • Sometimes 2 BR 622 and 1 BR 620 with the BR 620 for Tegernsee[IMG]
      • These used to operated by Integral S5D95 diesel multiple units (a possible loco addon?)[IMG]
    • The RB 58
      • A Stadler FLIRT electric multiple unit
      • Usually, a 3 or 4 car BR 1428[IMG]
    • S 3 & S 7
      • Usually, 2 or 3 BR 423
    • S 20
      • ~ 50% of the time 2 BR420
      • ~40 % of the time 2 BR423
      • ~10% other rolling stock which they could get their hands on, they lend a few BR 425 units for a while, so you could reuse the model already in game

Nice suggestion, this would certainly allow for some very interesting gameplay. And of course, some single-track Diesel action would also be a welcome change :)

This would be an alternative to the usual main routes. Good proposal

I know this thread has been dead, but this route really needs to be added, in my opinion, it's one of the most beautiful pieces of tracks in the entirety of Germany

The route seems to look beautiful and I really like the S5D95. They're now running near my area and they seem to be really comfortable. This is getting a like of me :)

You can probably get away with this bundle Nahverkehr München Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg with this route. Benefits the S3 for complete run via München Hbf tief was discussed in one of the streams

I think its a very good idea, especially because of the couple action in Holzkirchen and Schaftlach, but the Route ist too long. The entire route described here is 120 km long. Normal DTG routes are about 80 km long I think.. But if we remove the Holzkirchen - Bayrischzell section, we are only at about 79 km. The couple action is not lost, you can still uncouple the part of the train in Holzkirchen, which is then continued by the AI. And I think only one new train is realistic. Then I prefer the BR 622 or the Integral. For the S-Bahn services, DTG can use the Br423 again. The 3 car Br1428 (never seen a 4 car from the BRB) is then possible as a loco DLC or with another route with journeys on this route.
In conclusion, I can say that this would be the optimal route, because there are urban regions and landscaped regions, there is an electrified part with heavy traffic and single-track quiet diesel routes. Another advantage: The community could build scenarios with long-distance trains being diverted to this route, as this sometimes happens in reality.
But the S3 will not be completed, because it runs a different route between Munich and Deisenhofen.
