I am a very regular user of Train Sim World, and I enjoy using the sim to improve my skills and learn new things about the railway. However, being from Northern Ireland I cannot help but loathe the complete absense of Ireland as a whole throughout the Train Simulator franchise. Of course this may be due to lack of info or videos from upfront/permission from TOCs. However Translink NI Railways have recently been posting full cab ride videos on their YouTube channel (these videos are from 2012) and the list is as follows: Belfast to Bangor Belfast to Larne Colraine to Derry ~ Londonderry Belfast to Culleybackey Colraine to Portrush Rolling stock may include: NIR CAF Class 3000 DMU https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NIR_Class_3000 NIR CAF Class 4000 DMU https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NIR_Class_4000 NIR BREL Class 450 DMU https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NIR_Class_450 I still am awaiting my favourite route to be posted, which is Belfast to Portadown. I believe all of these routes meet all criteria, they are within a distance short enough to create in the simulator within a satisfactory amount of time, they contain fantastic scenery, the rolling stock are easy to model and there is new video information some possible issues include, the possibility of insufficient information from Translink being provided, travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the track guage of Ireland being 5 foot 3 inches, which may cause issues in scenario designer due to most other routes featuring standard guage and possible rejections from Translink. Overall I think that Ireland and Northern Ireland deserve a bit of recognition here, and I hope that soon this can be looked at and maybe planned or at least sketched and attempted. As more information about these routes becomes available it becomes easier to get a picture of their structure and components. I hope to see some action taken on this suggestion soon, Thank you, Odhrán
Excellent proposal in for the train safety systems they're basically the same as all other British Routes AWS TPWS but track gauge it's different it's now since you have 5'3 track in metric units that is 1.6m track gauge.
thank you, and yes all safety systems are the same. However the Arose Line had a different track guage aswell but was still released, so shouldn't be a problem?
