Welcome to the community forum model shop. RS Models, a place to come for simulated model sets. The idea for this has been on my mind for some time now for I do love collecting and have amassed close to 400 liveries across 3 accounts for my own visual collection. I would also love to collect real models, but with some costing close to 500 quid then there’s no way I can afford that. Why as some of you know I reached out to Hornby and DTG with idea of both collaborating to produce a high quality model set. Hornby could do what other 3rd party developers do by providing locos and rolling stock. Then they would be a new feature in game where users could see and visually interact with the models. A display case. Players could even set against different back drops for each display box. Sadly I heard nothing back from either when I seen a number of benefits to all. A, DTG providing units users have been asking for and it could help with game memory usage over using CC created content. B, Hornby by working with DTG to produce and sell at the RRP point. 11.99 to 15.99 for single loco set. Or 30 for a two loco set. Cheaper than paying hundreds of pounds out. Yes having the real model is nice but so was owning a record or class car, nice to have and to hold but cost a small fortune and not always the easiest things to live with where as today technology has moved on and most of what we have is now via music or media steams, the times have changed. Would users prefer to have a cheap alternative than nothing at all thus would provide revenue for Hornby by users not spending on real models sets. Ie for Hornby bringing in 11.99 is better than nothing. C, It eases the pressure on DTG to provide what users want, a win for users asking for items for years now. Helps with game memory and performance. (If that’s how’s the core game works, ie less memory for non CC liveries). A way for users to experience more new in game content or features such as the interactive display cases. DTG could even do Model DLC routes specials for different seasons. Just the route no locos. Cheaper again for users, by serving a way for them to have enjoy their purchase in a fun way. Like the Christmas DLC DTG did a few years back. I found it to be very warming at Christmas time, something different away from the serious side of TSW content. It was fun. And why I have decided to run with the model theme myself because nothing developed from any previous communications. So let’s start with RS Model Shop content. Now I have already created a model set with items PC 43 002/PC 43 198 for my first little experiment. These set was released Under A1 and 2 of a 2 item set. So going forward all model related sets will use this classification method. Already produced are two car sets from B to F, with more being added quite quickly. These sets have been chosen in line with the TSW Preservation Group Project with low decal numbers being another factor for such sets. Current batch 43 002 to 43 055 or Western Region DMB HST sets 253. For now I will simply share some of the reskin models currently awaiting release. To simplify things for ease of work load each set that is released under this project will use methods already described above as the classification method. There are NOT part of the set code used for the Unofficial TSW Preservation Group Project. Also each RS model released will still make use of the existing TSLP coding system. Such as the last model seen is TSLP459F1YNL4R5OR1EDMML43 used for my own tracking method. However the new model sets will make use of a new RS item code that reads TSLP459RSE2/2. With the last Letter and Numbers changing to the individual corresponding product item. This code will be used in the product description along with the usual information I provide when uploading. Okay I think that’s about it Actually just one last thing. The whole point RS Model theme is for me to enjoy TSW and share with the community plus it also serves as a way for users to request certain things. All sets released will be in new condition yet if a user would like one weathered or altered to their current needs that can be arranged in due course. It’s simply about doing something different that may be of interest to others. Not only that it’s educational experience or one I’ve found very educational in what I’ve learned and picked up. Such as HST formations data from 1982 upwards for each loco or original formation/ sets. 253 and 254. All this information is being used to rightfully represent the reskins/models produced using the original TOPS system of classification, pool, depot allocations to each livery used by TOCs to ensure the accuracy of each reskins/models produced. So yep, that’s it from me again Folks. On a serious note though I’ve been noticing a few grumbles and upsets here and there lately across the forum. I’ve had my downs recently too and so trying to inject some positive energy back to the room. The Environment we all share That goes for all at DTG too. Yep it seems things aren’t perfect right now but come on, have a break Guys and Gals. It’s seems like it’s you’ve not stopped which means fatigue could set in, then it can get harder to be positive in the spotlight. Left long enough then passion can fade, leading to less time being around a product or having more down time away from streaming or playing. Seeing a product not as entertainment but a nightmare therefore wanting to scream I’ve had enough just like we your customers do. It’s only natural human behaviour. One that can be controlled when hearing or seeing the signs for one’s self to remove how the body naturally responds to stress or pressure. It’s means removing the mind from those areas of stress. The environment. Different environments are like little Holidays without actually going anywhere. Environmental change can alter by distraction. Distraction changes perception. Perception controls everything. So yes slight waffle there for DTG staff and I do hope I’m wrong yet if not then have break, have a Kit Kat The goes for my negative here and there so I’ll be having a break too, by spending time on having fun with little themed projects like this.
