The timetable is now available here: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...imetables/i5709-ruhr-sieg-nord-2006-timetable Now that Niddertalbahn timetable is in a good state and I'm happy with it, it's time for my next project. There were a few routes I was interested in making timetables for, but I've decided to give RSN some extra love. The timetable is in a very early stage (I won't get copies of the real passenger timetable until the end of the month) but I'm after some suggestions on what people want to see, especially, for freight. Overview of player services RE 16 Hagen - Finnentrop operated by the DB 425 from BRO. RB 56 Hagen - Letmathe operated by the DB 143 and 1x Dosto from RSN. RB 91 Hagen - Finnentrop operated by the DB 143 and N-Wagen from RSN & BRO. Oege Steel - DB 363 for shunting, 185 & Shimmns for inbound/outbound. Elverlingsen Coal - See below for shunting, 155 & Falns for inbound/outbound. Boele Lumber & Herbeck Cement - DB 204 & 363 for shunting, 185 & Roos-T for inbound/outbound. I need to do some more research into other freight on the route but I'd like to make use of as many industries as relistically possible. Freight is my weak point (despite it being a major feature of the route), so any help is greatly appreciated. AI services Hagen - ICE, IC, RE/RB, S-Bahn using relevent stock where possible. Finnentrop - RB 92 services using the 642. The main thing I'd like advice on is getting services using Elverlingen Power Station, in real life it's electrified (in game, it isn't) and I'm not sure what year it was electrified. Before it closed, coal trains would run to Werdohl, run around and then run down to the power station to reverse in. I'm guessing before this, a diesel loco took the coal wagons from Werdohl for loading but the only reference I've found so far is this video: What loco would be best suited, the 363 or 204, as I believe it's on a gradient?
Just a funny sidenote: This was recreated as scenario by Tom Fresco . It was for TSW 2. I don't think it works anymore, but it was great fun to play back then! https://rail-sim.de/forum/filebase/entry/7194-kohlelieferung-zum-kraftwerk-v2/
I'm not 100 percent sure but i think the tracks are "electrified" ingame, but the OHLE Assets are missing. I normally don't like to do advertisment for my own channel, but you can actually see how I drive with the 185 into that area:
You're indeed correct, it does work. Any ideas what year it was electrified? It's also possible to open the coal hopper doors, so I'll definitely be making use of that in service mode.
This might become a problem because afaik the 143 isn't compatible with the n-Wagen. At least not with the cab car. But not sure on that, you should check that though.
For freight, you could use cargonautus.de, even if it is kind of outdated (since 2010), you'll get at least an impression, what's going up and down the line, and maybe tweak it a little to fit in your timetable...
I've just given this a test and you're correct. The n-Wagen doesn't work with any version of the 143 annoyingly. I think I'll have to make a compromise and use the 111 from Rosenheim, which should hopefully work with the n-Wagen.
You can't control the BR 143 (or any else) from the cab car, but you can control the doors from the 143 cab. You just have to unlock the doors on both sides. Instead of a cab car you may use a second loco (-> sandwich formation). There is just one little issue with the door control: it works on nearly every route, except Ruhr-Sieg Nord. On Rhein-Ruhr Osten (and every other route I tried except Ruhr-Sieg Nord) the door control works from the 143 cab.
Not much progress is being made on the timetable currently, as I've not had much time. I've got the template I intend to use for RB 56 services set up, which just consists of the first couple of services which I can then copy and paste. I've made a start getting the Ruhr-Sieg-Bahn services in, so once that's in a copy and paste state I can simulate the timetable to check for issues before putting the rest in. The 143+n-Wagen services will be made up of 110+n-Wagen instead, due to the bug which stops the AI being able to run the 111 with n-Wagens. If, in the future, a Wittenberg control car gets added to the game I'll replace the formations to use the prototypical 143+n-Wagens.
RB56, RE16 and RB98 services have now got a template and successfully simulated (to my shock). I gave the RB56 a drive to check for any issues. Some photos of the run attached. Yes, the doors are open on the wrong side and it has now been fixed. RSN doesn't support auto door selection in the editor so I'm having to check each station is set up correctly. Doesn't help that if the train is running in reverse, I have to select the opposite door side to what I expect it to be. The PIS does work at Hagen, it just hadn't loaded in at the start of the run. The n-Wagen doors also don't work on this route, but will still allow you to complete the objective. Yes, it takes away from the immersion a bit but I think it's worth the compromise to be able to drive the n-Wagen.
A long time with no updates, been quite busy recently so I haven't had much time to work on the timetable. All the player passenger services are now in the timetable and fully simulated. I've decided I want to add in a track closure during the night between Letmathe and Werdohl resulting in left-hand running for Northbound trains. I've placed two engineering trains down using 218s which will gradually move throughout the night. These are then drivable back to Hagen Yard in the morning. I've used the Eanos wagens for the engineering trains but if anyone has any better suggestions on more realistic formations then I'm happy to change it. Next up is adding in all the AI at Hagen plus the Olpe services at Finnentrop. I'll add in a 642 operated empty stock service from Hagen to Finnentrop plus return, as well as the start and end of day shunt moves to the fuel point at Finnentrop.
Spent an incredibly long time setting up Elverlingen, Finnentrop and Hohemlimburg Steel trains (Hohenlimburg still has more services to set up) along with all the relevent shunting. It's all now successfully simulated. Now that's sorted, I'll try and get the rest of the local freight and industries into the timetable before adding all the through freight services.
nice. seeing finnentropp filled up looks great. it always felt weird driving into it when it was completely empty
Latest update on the timetable is that all player drivable services are in the timetable! An overview of services playable: RE16, RB56, RB91 passenger services. Through freight. Local freight runs at Hagen-Kabel (Boele), Hohenlimburg, Plettenberg, Letmathe, Elverlingsen, & Finnentrop. Shunting at Kabel, Hohenlimburg, Plettenberg and Finnentrop. Special services such as stock moves, railtours (more to be added once the timetable is fully completed). Elverlingsen coal service. Hagen & Finnentrop ECS moves. There is a track closure between Letmathe and Werhdohl before 7am, this results in slight delays to services and left-hand track running for Northbound services. What's left? I'll soon make a start adding in the remaining AI services at Hagen and once I'm happy they're all in and working, I will get the timetable released! Following release I'll likely get some more freight and seasonal services added to make the timetable even busier!
Only a small update to confirm this project isn't dead, I've not had much time to work on it but over the past few days all the AI ICE, IC/EC, S-Bahn, RE 7, and ABR services are now in. Only RE 4 & RE 13 left to do (which should be straightforward) and hopefully I can have the timetable out by the end of next week!
The timetable has been released! Https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...imetables/i5709-ruhr-sieg-nord-2006-timetable If you find any problems please post them here, they won't get fixed straight away as I'm away next week but I'll get a list together for them. Some things to note: Doors on n-Wagens don't open, you still operate them like normal but the way the platforms have been set up in the route aren't compatible with the way doors have been set up on the n-Wagens. No AI freight at Hagen Hbf/Yard. This is planned to be sorted in future update. Destination boards/PIS displays don't show correctly for AI services. Substitution needs some rework.
