I was on RSSLO page and wanted to buy something but when I pressed buy my Norton Safe Search blocked me twice from continue and it also blocked me once from downloading. Have anyone else of you had the same experience?
False flag. Various security apps block different things for different reasons. RSSLO sells through DTG on Steam as well, so I would suggest they are unlikely to be problematic.
Never had this problem using RSSLO. Bossman Games and Steam Sounds Supreme downloads are always refused by my security software until I have to set them to allow them each time etc., etc.
I have purchased almost all of RSSLO’s routes and all of their locos and wagons with complete security and problem free downloads.
I'd be more concerned about the adware/bloatware you have installed on your PC going under the guise of security software tbh
Yep, same here, and never had a problem with anything from RSSLO. I always scan any .rar, .rwp and .exe from every 3rd party website I download goodies from just for piece of mind, automatically, I can't remember if I've ever had a problem in 15 years obtaining stuff from 3rd party sites right across the world, everyone seems to be very user friendly, just shows what a great community we have. Some of these Anti-virus tools are quite sensitive, if anyone was uploading dodgy stuff onto websites the community would soon shout from the rooftops about it, these developers can't afford bad press. Cheerz. Steve.
That's what I was thinking too. Commercial AV software is just ripping people off. The late John McAfee once created a hype around a virus (Michelangelo) to sell his stuff... it worked for him. Big time.
Just looked that up. Seems it was based on manufacturers shipping infected computers. But that has nothing to do with RSSLO. I have twice had a computer seller talk me into security software, but I find it's unnecessary as I browse safely and know how to handle myself online. Adblockers remove a lot of the threats, anyway - particularly the ads that appear on download pages that might draw the mouse to infect someone with. The normal file download is fine, but the ad is designed to make you think you downloaded the file instead of some unwanted virus or other unneeded application. I never browse without one. And I've never had a problem with viruses, only other types of computer problems.
I didn't say it has something to do with RSSLO. It's a false flag as you stated correctly. I just don't understand why a lot of people pay for silly AV software when they get it for free anyway - it's already included in Windows, and their scanner is according to PC magazines, pretty much the best. I never had a false flag, never had my RailWorks64.exe quarantined, never had a virus on my system. And I never wasted my money on Kaspersky's, Norton's or McAfee's bull***t spyware.
McAfee is literally the worst. My mother insisted I install it to a computer in 2000 as some miracle thing that would help me, and all it did was completely screw up my computer at the time. I tried to uninstall it and it refused to go, and by that summer I'd lost everything I had at the time (this is before the days of external hard drives and such). Another app snuck onto my 2019 PC and made my sound degrade every time I had Chrome open (it was a Chrome extension I did not agree to have installed), and it took two years to find it. Never use McAfee. Never.
I have purchased all of the RSSLO routes, scenarios and most of their locomotives and never ever had a problem and use the basic AVG
