Hello. Quick explanation: I do stuff, create/copy RVD/FRM files, take RVV blueprint classes, set up reskin stuff (for reskin mods), then at some point save, exit, the next day I open and see: nothing. the things are all gone. but are they? when I try to redo the RVVs, they apparently get noticed as I typed the exact same file name on it, and then its there again. when I recopied the RVD and FRM files from the original DLC, then suddenly they're there, twice. what the hell? how do I resolve this? the RVDs for example were right here yesterday! when I recreate the blueprint classes, take the rvv, and give it the same name the disappeared one had, it suddenly pops back into existance.
It's a known issue with the current version of the editor. If you look into that directory in the file explorer, you will find that the files are still there but they just aren't loading. No idea how to make them load though. Other than getting to them through a reference from another blueprint.
If you have the files open (eg in tabs) when the editor is closed down, it will usually ask you next time if you want to reopen them and they will also reappear in the content viewer.
I found when trying to make scenarios that one way to make them reappear is to rename the file and then set it back again. Anything that causes the timestamp of the file to be updated seems to make it load back in. Bit of a pain with multiple files though
also dragging and dropping the .uasset files from the actual plugin folder using windows explorer into the appropriate location in the editor's content browser makes them reappear, even though it also makes an error box come up that says the reimporting failed, probably for the same reason the bug occurs in the first place. Seems to work fine though! This is definitely going to make creating my own loco a huge headache, assuming it's still possible at all, even with the cooking mod...
Right clicking the folder on the left, and using the "Show in Explorer" button should be the fastest way for reimporting.
No need to even use the individual uasset files - if you do it with a folder, it'll find all the files in it, including those in subfolders.
