Hi All, I've been using RW Enhancer 2 for a fair while now and recommend anyone to try it if they haven't already. One thing I've noticed however is that the audio enhancements can sometimes feel quite severe and that a lot of EMUs/DMUs can sound the same due to the overlay RW adds. I was wondering if someone has tweaked the RW audio settings to get a nice balance between in-game/AP/other stock audio and that of RW. If you're happy to share your settings that would be much appreciated. Many thanks!
This seems to be what I'm mostly happy with.. Instead of me explaining every reason for every individual setting if there's anything you want to know why on just ask and I'll explain
I'll try out these settings Reef, but I have a few questions. Why do you turn braking friction on? When I was trying out the audio elements of RW Enhancer 2 for the first time I had to turn that one off because of how agonising that noise was. Granted it was early 2022 when I tried that so it may have changed, so please let me know if it's better now but I would like to understand why you think it's good to have it turned on. Also why no thunder strike? I love that effect on heavy weather scenarios, gives it some good ambiance. Only thing I can understand not using it for is the Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 scenario with the Class 319. I also enjoyed the Chair Squeak and Train Frame Squeaks too, made the environment feel much more warm in a way? I don't know if that's the right word but I liked it, made it feel like I was really there.
Most of the ones I've turned off are ones that I found quite obnoxiously irritating, for example the chair squeak and passenger discussions, but tbh I've never been that bothered by the braking friction, I might turn it off next play through and see which I prefer. So short answer, no real reason why it's on just that it hasn't annoyed me enough to turn it off.
Thanks Reef, also has anyone had any problems with the HUD system (for example when you press begin service, cancel service, etc) being incredibly low fps? I hover my mouse cursor over the begin service button and takes about 2-5 seconds for the button to light up allowing me to press it. It's fine in the menu, but horrible in game even though my game usually runs at a perfectly fine ~30fps. It's making using the audio features really frustrating when you are trying to begin service. It's genuinely really bothering me as I do want to use these audio features.
