Dear DTG, I have an idea for an S-Bahn system which could be added for TSW3 in the future, really showcasing how a German commuter route has to be in real life The Rhine-Main S-Bahn system is an integrated rapid transit and commuter rail system for the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region, which includes the cities Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Offenbach am Main, Hanau and Darmstadt. The network comprises nine S-Bahn lines, eight of which currently travel through the cornerstone of the system, a tunnel (the "City Tunnel") through central Frankfurt. I'll be suggesting four connecting lines for TSW because they run in a similar alignment. This would add up to 60 miles (96km) of track with a whopping 48 stations! I also like to have all other AI or playable services on the other lines which pass through the city tunnel, to make the route much busier and realistic. -S3 -S4 -S5 -S6 The S3 Line The S3 Line runs between Darmstadt Hbf and Bad Soden. The line is 30 miles (49km) with 27 stations. Once it reaches Niederhöchstadt station, the line splits from the S4 Line and heads of on a single track to Bad Soden. The S4 Line The S4 Line runs between Langen and Kronberg and follows the same alignment as the S3 Line from Langen, but once it reaches Niederhöchstadt station, the line splits from the S3 Line and heads of on a single track to Kronberg. The S5/S6 Lines Both the S5 and S6 Lines start at Frankfurt Sud, a station on the S3 and S4 Lines as well. The S5 and S6 Lines parallel each other 'till Frankfurt West, where they split, with the S6 heading up to Friedberg and the S5 heading to Friedrichsdorf Bahnhof, after splitting from the S3 and S4 Lines at Rödelheim. Rollingstock I have a plan to set the route in 2014 so we could see three types of rollingstock. DB BR 420 The Class 420 (German: Baureihe 420) is a commuter EMU train type in service on German S-Bahn networks since 1972. Their use in Munich during the 1972 Summer Olympics earned them the colloquial name Olympiatriebwagen (Olympic multiple unit). This train is already being developed for TSW by TSG (Train Sim Germany) for Munich-Augsburg, so this train could be a layer or would be bundled with the route. DB BR 423 The Deutsche Bahn Class 423 EMU is a lightweight articulated electric railcar for S-Bahn commuter networks in Germany. The train has similar dimensions to its predecessor, the Class 420 EMU, but is significantly lighter and has one large passenger compartment, while that of the 420 is divided into three parts. The 423 additionally has six doors in each carriage (three on each side), which is down from eight on the 420 (four on each side). They are numbered from 423 001 to 423 462. This train is already in TSW as part of the Munich-Augsburg route, so DTG can make all the necessary changes to the train to reflect the Rhine-Main Class 423. DB BR 430 The DB BR 430 would be an all-new train with this route and TSW in general. They entered service in autumn of 2014. These trains came in to replace the DB BR 420 on the Rhine-Main S-Bahn network. This would be a great route to have in TSW3. It would finally have the city of Frankfurt in the game and would really showcase how a German commuter route can be in real life. Thanks Akshay26
Excellent Idea overall. Regarding the S-Bahn Rhein-Main S6 & S8 routes why not make them 1990s so that both lines can merge with Niddertalbahn S6 Shared Bad Villbel while S8 links to the Linke Rheinstrecke at Mainz Hbf? Paint for the 1990s S8 & S9 420s are the orange and cream Produktefarben
