Out of all the routes this is probably the one that I’m most interested in.I’m not familiar with this route .Would like to know what type of timetable, service pattern, trains, freight we can expect.

    For passngers we will get:
    S1 Lindau-Bludenz
    S5 Lustenau-Bludenz
S3 Lindau-St. Margrethen (only to Lustenau since the last stop St. Margrethen is in Switzerland)
Nothing confiremed for IC/EC services although it would have been very easy to implement with a repainted BR182 and IC coaches- these would have run on the lines you can see when you take a look at the station Bludenz by using Google maps.

Freight wise there are many freight services running from inner Germany to Innsbruck and further through the complete line as well as e.g. from a big freightyard on the route at Wolfurt. The starting point on this line will proba be Wolfurt Gbf for these freighttrains or (and I hope for that) Lindau Reutin which was just a freightyard until 2020

I am also curious what current TSW rolling stock could/will layer in either as playable or AI services.

I know just from the short clips in the reveal, it seems like Rivet's FLIRT will sub into the route (probably as AI?).

What year is this set? I think the livery looks different on the game than what I have seen present day

Since you also own train simulator classic it should be familiar to you since it's the three Country Corner route.

So as far as I could find out quite frequent! Nowadays the S1 for example runs every 30 minutes to Bregenz and every 2 hours further to Lindau- don’t know about the other ones though..

The services of the longest S-Bahn, the S, will be 1,20h- the other ones will take a bit less.

Unfortunately I don’t know. I guess it will be somewhere around 2015 because after 2016 Lindau Reutin was upgraded from a freightyard to a passenger station and was opened in 2020. We will have to wait and see :D

But the livery you saw in these pictures is the new ÖBB livery- it’s only a few years old :)

The S1 seems to be one that
Every 10 minutes during rush and 15-30 non peak hours. Not sure how early or late they run

Looking forward to this route, hoping the mountain scenery is better than Arosa.

Almost took this train from Bludenz to Feldkirch during my stay in Montafon this summer, but decided against it because of the costs for four persons and took the car. So it's nice to see this is coming! Also very much looking forward to the rest of the Austrian content, and further border crossings!

Based on what we know, the REX, RJX, EC& IC won’t be there, although there is clearly some layering so I’d presume there will be bits here and there.

Do all the services stop at every stop, or are there express or semi-express services?

i don't mind either way for this route, i just want to know as i know virtually nothing about this route!

I think the S-Bahn ones that are included are stopping everywhere. IC and EC would stop at the bigger stations (2-4 on this route) and REX are regional express services- which are certainly not included as well as the RJX

Matt mentioned the red 628 will layer in. not sure where it would go. I guess I'm assuming Lindau

    -DBC Br185.2
    -Dispolok Br182
    -Br101
    -Br612 and Br628
    (-SBB RABe521)

But most of them are just AI apart from the freight locos I guess

Very exciting about this route.Looks to be the best route fromTSW4.
Also looks to be the busier by far from the other two.

I’m also very interested in the timeframe this route is set in. Just a few years ago, they significantly reduced the size of the Lindau island station and partially replaced it with Lindau-Reutlingen on the mainland. Wonder if that is represented in-game or if we’ll just get the big station at Lindau (which would be a cool time capsule as well because it no longer exists in that form).

Looking forward to this route! Would have loved to drive to at least St. Margarethen to have a proper end for the S3 and swiss signaling also. As there are some swiss routes coming, the assets should be there.

Hopefully REX Services will be added with a possible DLC OEBB 1116 (DB 182 Reskin)+Dosto+Cabcar or at least some IC with OEBB 1116+DB IC Coaches.

Yes, it seems t be set back a few years. At time there is a replacement taking place: The ÖBB 4024 are being replaced by OBB 4748 (Siemens Desiro ML) an some of the 4024 got a new "cityjet"-Design (an ÖBB-trademark for regional services).

Here is the English Version of the Wikipedia-Article of "S-Bahn-Vorarlberg": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorarlberg_S-Bahn There you can get an overview of Vorarlberg's regional rail services. But be warned, it seems a bit outdated: The planned start of the mentioned Talent3 wasquite a disaster, so they canceled the contract and bougt Desiro ML...

If you have further question about Austrian railway services, maybe I can help...

The S-Bahn should stop at every station on the route, but not all of them run on the entire route. Some S1 terminate at Bregenz or Bregenz Hafen (Harbour) for instance. Then there should be some REX (Regionalexpress, in Germany RE) that have lesser stops. Most of ther services are hourly to 30 minutes.

According to this (has plenty of other gameplay :) ), the Talent 1 has 285 services and the BR 185 has 54.

During the live stream, when JD summarized each section, it showed a small map of the route amongst a bunch of other details.
For this route it looked like there were a couple branches on that map. Does that mean it includes a few different S-Bahn lines?

I don’t have a screenshot handy but I can follow up with one if need be.

In addition, a reskin of the BR 182 + Eurofima (IC) coaches would work for the EC/RJX services. Nothing currently in game would work for the REX (Regional Express trains, except for more Talents, or a serious rework of the Class 700.

It was stated a bit earlier in this thread:
We will get the complete S1 and S5, as well as almost the complete S3 apart from the last stop St. Margrethen which is the next station after Lustenau (end of the biggest branch) but in Switzerland so we won’t see it

For me that’s the biggest mystery of TSW 4:
We have the mist commonly used loco in Austria already in game: Very good physics, sound and already the Austrian voiceover for the safety systems, the wagons for IC and EC services also would just have to be repainted inside and outside and we could get so much more gameplay! This „extra mile“ would have been the cherry on top of a super good looking milkshake- but I guess it’s not cherry season :/
And if there would be a new DTG loco bundle on the roadmap I would guess it’s one of the 5,99 buck packages- but there is none so we won’t see it in the near future I guess…
And also: The repainted Br182 would have been perfect not only for IC and EC, but also for freight services and a perfect object for repaints due to about three million (a little bit exaggerated) advertisement liverys…
Maybe someone at DTG sees this and gives it a shot for another of these glorious loco bundle packs?
(And if were on that topic: An MRCE and DB Vectron would be nice too ;))

There is also a complete route map published on the official tsw4 website if you go to the section on Lindau-Bludenz and click "See more" (can't get it now, on mobile).

There is a single ICE that runs along the route, ICE 118/119 from Münster. This is an ICE4 not, but a substitution would work. However, it was a regular loco-hauled train in the year this route is set, so you'd need to bend reality a bit.

It really is crying out with a red Taurus and some Eurofima coaches - hopefully they come in the next Austrian route and can layer in.

The 4024s did operate a surprising number of REX services, so wouldn't look out of place.
