Steam now in production on the new roadmap!
For those of you getting confused; the Steam referred to in the roadmap means that DTG are adding support to TSW 2 for the operation of steam locomotives.
Yep, here it comes!
I really wouldn't get too excited.
Because you might build up too much boiler pressure and E X P L O D E in anticipation!
Indeed, wouldn't set expectations too high... or rather too soon. I don't expect steam to make it into the game this year.
Personally, I'm not too bothered with it. I fear running steam loco's will be too complicated for my taste, making it more of a chore than a game. So unless they will include a simplified (dare I say arcadey) version of it, I'll probably pass
Pardon me if this has been mentioned already, but I feel like there's another BIG elephant in the room.
If steam is finally coming to the game, does this also allude to yet another engine upgrade for TSW?
It was mentioned a while back in a stream that in order to facilitate steam trains, the game would have to be updated to support all the things that go on in one of those beasts. All the moving parts, the thick smoke, managing the boiler. Theres an awful lot that goes on, and they'd have to get it right, at least to a reasonable degree. They made it sound as though a game engine upgrade was necessary so they can finally bring steam to the game. Now that its finally on the table, will the two things come hand-in-hand? Whats the deal?
I'm not saying that this absolutely means that TSW3 is confirmed....but...if one was to take an educated guess...maybe we'll see something along the lines of TSW2022 arriving sometime around Q3, with steam and an update to UE 4.26? This is all completely just speculation, by the way. But it sure brings up a bunch of intriguing questions.
Sam said something about TSW series would be release this year
