Hi Everyone, If you are unfamiliar with the Saint-Gervais-Vallorcine railway it's a 36.5 km/22.7 mile long railway that lies in the valleys of the french alps. The route passes by several ski resorts, originating at Saint-Gervais' Le-Bains-Le-Fayet station and ending at Vallorcine, both of which are ski resorts themselves. The route has 18 stations, which I know is definitely manageable for TSW, with notable stations being 3 stations in Chamonix (including Mont Blanc) and Argentière. The route is extremely picturesque, which Is why I think it would be good for a TSW route and could add to the Arosa-Chur route as a mountain route. It's of course operated by SNCF due to the fact that it's French. Passenger Trains The railway uses several trains to carry passengers. These are the ones I think could be added to TSW: 1. Stadler Z850 EMU. These are the newest of the fleet. 2. Z800 EMU. This is the classic train that first comes to mind when thinking of the railway. 3. Z600 EMU. These are the older trains, which tend to be used when the route is super busy. (Could be good for a rush-hour type scenario) Cargo alternative Because the route isn't home to that much freight, with the existing freight coming through the Mont-blanc road tunnel via lorry, Instead of a cargo train TSW could introduce a snowplow train onto the route. The one I suggest is the Beilhack CN4, which is used for clearing the tracks of snow at the beginning of the day. Feel free to come up with Scenarios for the route, but I don't have time to think of any at the moment. Thanks and let me know how it sounds, SJ
Excellent Idea overall and speaking of this This EMU has a unique feature the ability to use rack railway systems Strub/Riggenbach
