So I’m thinking of getting the Scotrail Express Route, but was gonna wait until the Fife Circle preview to decide, and then saw that the preview is at 7pm on the 21st, and the sale for Scotrail Express ends on the 21st. What time on the 21st does the sale end? Basically, would I be able to watch that live stream, and then make the decision to buy whilst there’s still a 50% discount?
Don’t know what time it finishes, though it will say somewhere on Steam. You could always buy the route before the sale ends and then just not play TSW until after the preview. Then you will still be able to refund as you’ve played for less than 2 hours. You have to completely stay off TSW though, playing any DLC will count towards the 2 hours of play time.
Sure it says on the splash screen, the DTG sale is on until 28th March i.e. extended a week beyond the official Steam end date of 21st March. As regards the Edinburgh to Glasgow route, well I can't personally recommend it. Bought it, played for 40 minutes and refunded. the 385 is a horrid train to drive with that tiny window, not in the least bit entertaining - you literally have a tunnel vision of the route ahead. The sounds are awful and while the (PC) mod helps, still doesn't really redeem it IMHO. Not even worth it at sale price.
FWIW, I bought the ScotRail+'engineering' pack, for the same reason (to enhance the Fife Circle), but I'm enjoying it very much (with the excellent sound mods, so I don't know what it's like without them!) My 2070 finds the scenery quite a challenge, sometimes.
