    Saluda Grade (Asheville - Spartanburg)

    What is the Saluda Grade?
The Saluda Grade is the most challenging grade in North America. The grade is on the NS/SOU W-Line (Asheville - Spartanburg). Their main operator was Southern Railway (U.S).
The route has alot of scenery, towns, and history, and seen alot of freight! The average is about 4.24 percent, which will give the player a serious challenge to battle the Saluda Grade!

    Spartanburg - Asheville

The time period is set to the Mid 80s. Spartanburg to Asheville is about 70 miles long to run. Drivers will experience amazing scenery and tough grades around the route. The driver will also experience uncoupling their train to get up the hill without having any kind of issues.
The three-mile-long grade that crests at Saluda is the steepest mainline, standard-gauge stretch of track in the nation. Also, Drivers can use pusher locomotives (Like in CSX SPG) since trains can't run without them (Mostly used for coal trains, but sometimes can be seen on other manifests). Most pushers at least have 4 or more locomotives on it.

    Locomotives.

    - EMD SD40-2

EMD SD40-2's was known for handling coal trains back in Saluda. These Southern SD40-2 will have highhoods and have to insert a key to keep the dynamic break from releasing. SOU EMD SD40-2
Mostly had Old Cast P5 Horns on them. Also, these engines will have at least 4x SD40-2's on the front and on the pusher side. Road numbers are listed from 3201–3328.

    - EMD GP50's

SOU GP50's were commonly used for the W Line in 1981. These GP50's can be used for locals and switching in Spartanburg and Asheville. SOU GP50's will be mostly manifested, but it can also be on coal trains which will need 5x engines to pull the coal train. Just like the SOU SD40-2's they're also highhoods and have an Old Cast P5. Road Number are 7003-7092.

Excellent idea overall end you need to be watching this video on how to do it correctly otherwise you will end up on a runaway ramp like a lorry that lost its brakes on a downhill

Well since we are getting it for TS Classic, DTG has all the information about it readily available, so making a TSW version shouldn’t be too hard

The TSC version is being made by 3rd Party developer High Iron Simulations, NOT Dovetail games.

I've seen that video myself a couple of times. It's impressive how Southern Railway operate their train like this on the grade.

I've seen it and if you are coming down too fast the switch at the bottom will send you towards the runaway track

That's also a great idea actually. DTG just need to a find a way to fully script it and make it functional. Overall, I like that idea.
