It was a great stream last night. Many thanks to Matt and Sam for an entertaining and informative marathon. We even got an insight into how the new way DTG communicates with the community started. We all had an inkling it was down to Sam but it was all started when he was asked to step in as CM and he only agreed to do it on his terms. I’m sure it was difficult for some at DTG to start with but I’m sure they are seeing the benefits of his approach now. We are too. Good work all round. There were also rare insights into the company as a whole, the size and breadth of the teams, and the role of the CEO. All very interesting. I have a similar level of interest in trains as Sam. I love them but I’m not that knowledgeable about them. He mentioned that in another stream. For the knowledge side of things we have Matt and the expertise of lots of members of the community. I am interested in how the simulation works as much as I am about the trains and so this stream and the roadmap streams, and any stream with Matt are invaluable for me, as is the forum. I’ve learnt more about trains and sims from TSW than from anywhere else. An enjoyable place to learn and a good incentive and source for further reading about all things rail related. All my questions were answered in the stream and lots of the answers to other questions have given me a better insight into how things are likely to progress in the coming years. I couldn’t watch it live so I was up until 3am watching it later. I’m encouraged that the memory usage work is continuing to go well and that TSW2 will most likely get to run as well on my PS4 as TSW2020 does, even with the extra stuff that’s crammed into the sim to make it better. That’s been my biggest concern since the launch. I also like to watch the face of the person who isn’t talking for unsaid clues in the streams. I might not have to do that in the future because they are going to be letting us in on feature updates earlier in the process. This seems like a good approach, if only to stop me from coming up with wild speculations based on facial expressions and reading too much into something Natalie might have said about steam trains in a recent stream - see also the wild Sam’s secret thread all good fun. If you didn’t see the stream, I’d strongly advise looking it up on Youtube. Handy hint - if you play it at 1.25x speed you can get through it quicker and it sounds like the guys have had one too many coffees. I did that for the last hour of the stream as I was flagging, one advantage of watching later. Enough from me. Thanks for the stream guys and keep up the excellent work in 2021 !!!
