I really enjoyed the San Bernardino route preview. I have taken the train to Union Station and back and I felt the DTG team did a nice job recreating the route. I thought that including the speedways along the route was really nice and there seems to be plenty to do. I don’t know that I will be able to check 50 to 70 tickets as a conductor so I’m hoping as time goes on those figures might be adjusted. I thought the night lighting looked really well done and I’m looking forward to driving my hometown train service.

I must have been watching a different stream to you, because it looked as rough and rushed as all hell.

The racetrack is an empty, lifeless box, with two static, badly rendered cars sitting on roads that look like duct tape... and Matt proudly showed it off like it was the latest Gran Turismo game.

I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry during the entire stream.

You are confusing the Pomona Dragstrip with Auto Club Speedway, both are different from each other.

And its not like you are gonna look inside the Drag Strip when going by that location anyway.....

And apart from that: We are still in a TRAIN Simulator. If you want Gran Tourismo, go get Gran Tourismo.
Sorry if that sounds a little harsh, but I think we shouldn’t expect a Forza like Ractrack in a game that focuses on trains and you normally only ride next to for a few seconds.
In my honest opinion, this route looked very well made! I liked the chunks and waste around the tracks and platforms, the lighting (apart from one or two things) and especially the area next to this lake!
The only thing that really bothers me is the fact that the shadows of the cars are only rendering a few meters in front of the driver and the cars themselves- because they really don’t look extremely nice… But yes, that’s all due to performance and there is not much to do

Hopefully they fix all the flying cars on the SB route, as that looked ridiculous (unless they decide to update all the car models to DeLoreans)

I do think routes that have those quirks in them, whether it’s BPO with its roller coaster or Fife Circle with its Hearts FC stadium make routes feel unique and stand out for me. I enjoy noticing all the landmarks on my journey and I think it’s important that they focus on them when making a route. I don’t think they went overboard with the different race circuits, it’s just the audio cues you hear when you’re in proximity to them.

Well, for me that’s something different; the cars on the Highway are something you see for like 80% of the ride- the racing tracks are not even 1%. I do get your point, but in my opinion it’s good they used their resources for improving the overall route instead of the racing tracks

If this route is rushed then BPO is somewhat rushed too. Just take a look at the ever-broken passenger system on the Class 142 - This the first ever train to have passengers never properly exiting the train, but just vanishing from their seats. You get to see it every single stop.

In all my years of playing Train Sim World, I have never ever seen a passenger get up from their seat and casually walk off the the train.
They dissappear from the seat then they respawn near the exit of the coach and get off that way. There's a little bit of star trek in there lol.

From the images I've seen this route looks pretty decent. Flying cars have always been a thing in tsw! Cars are not the games selling point though.

I mean they literally don't do the latter. Passengers don't exit the train at all through the door, they just vaporize!
Despite no one getting off the train your train is slowly emptied...

No, they’re not the games selling point, but when they’re flying down the road, it looks absolutely ridiculous.

Yes it does. It also looks ridiculous when I'm cruising along side the freeway at 30mph overtaking cars, but it's just something we are gonna have to live with, as dtg seemed more inclined to add shadows to vehicles rather than make them follow the road properly.

On the contrary, trains arnt the major focal point of ETS2/ATS, and yet they don't float across the tracks over there (Though sometimes they do randomly spawn in)
