Have the timetables been split as many were on AVL or driveable in one go?

    Actually another one…

Why did you decide to do this route and not something a bit different? Yes we know you had the licensing and access plus all the issue with the freight railroads as regards research. However it’s a bit samey compared to last year. Why didn’t you go with something different like Surfliner, or maybe even try something like San Diego Trolley? The relatively scant scattering of questions so far does seem to indicate this is not the most eagerly awaited addition to the collection.

Hmmm…. I know that you aren’t going to answer questions about WCML on this stream and neither should you. However, I strongly recommend that someone from DTG gives a detailed definitive response to the issues raised in these forums before Thursday otherwise you are likely to be swamped and spammed with questions about WCML in the comments and any relevant questions about the San Bernadino line are going to be buried and difficult to filter out.

+1. And it is kind of relevant as a good presentation of SBO might persuade those of us thinking of cancelling (again) to stick with it.

Will we see mixed consists of new and old double decker cars, along with the loco from AVL on this route and the other way around the new loco and wagons in mixed consists on AVL? If you take a look at videos there are almost no consistent trains which only have one type of double decker cars and so on

    1. Why was this route announced so early? (February Dovetail Direct) Was it always intended to be a core route for TSW 5?
    2. Any interesting service patterns or is it just back and forth runs?
    3. Are there any features that won’t be in the route for launch?

oh perfect! Thanks for the images :D

I do wonder though, why we don’t get the old livery for the wagons? I mean the loco has it, but why not the wagons?

Have you put more effort into this route than you did WCML? If so, why?

These questions are aren't directly focused on the route but related:
Will the MP36 sub into the Antelope Valley route?
Will the San Bernardino Metrolink traffic be added to CJP version of San Bernardino?

    Questions about the route:
Are the mixed consists randomized on each timetable service or are they pre-set so each service will always have the same mix/order of coaches?

    1. Are the concerns about the highway scenery actually getting looked into? I know it was mentioned shortly after we saw it for the first time, but having an update on whether or not there is a fix getting looked into for a glaring scenery issue on a part of the route that has been noted as good for screenshots would be great.

    2. How does the consist randomization work? Is it truly random, or are there a bunch of preset consists that randomly get layered in? Is it just with cars or with liveries as well, and if with liveries, does that include CC liveries as well? I see the screenshots posted by others but also notice some special consists, leading me to believe it may just be a scenario.

    3. As previously mentioned, when announced that there would be 2 liveries for the bilevels, I along with many others assumed one would be the older white and blue style that exists on the MP36, any reason as to why this livery wasn't also included?

Does the layer from SHM offer anything besides subscription of UP locos for BNSF locos where appropriate, as in AVL? Are there any timetable services from SHM that a player would not have just with CJP only? Is there any AI or static stock from SHM that a player would not have with just CJP only? Will freight wagons from SHM appear, and if so in what capacity? Thank you.

And a few more from me...
    1. Does the route include Redlands which looking at the Metrolink SBO timetable is served by one orignating and terminating train each day?
    2. Was the route built in house or subcontracted, if the latter has extensive QA and oversight been exercised (mindful of the rumour that WCML South was part built by Rivet which is why it's a bit of a mess)?
    3. Tied up to my earlier question and an opportunity to raise something which is relevant. A full service trip from LA to SBO or Redlands (and vv) is shown on the timetable to take nearly an hour and three quarters. Very few players will be likely to complete this in one go which once again begs the question, Why do you continue to have only one save slot and why has this not been worked on in readiness for TSW5? It means even with saving you are committed to finishing the run on SBO before you can play another route that also might need saving. Really not good enough.

Don't think so as it wasn't on the route map that DTG revealed earlier.
    SanBernardino-Route-Map (1).jpg

Not to mention, the main trains on that line is Metrolink Arrow's service, so adding it would be useless without the Stadler FLIRTs.

So that's half of the entries here complaining about this not being the WCML.... maybe save that for the WCML topic?

A lot of the questions are addressed already on the announcement on the website already. They either are really quick on answers or they guessed and had it prepared already. =-)

Are the coach consists completely randomized, or are they hardcoded mixed sets? Does this mean every time we load onto a specific service, we can have different combinations of Bombardier and Rotem cars?

That’s kind of an ongoing theme with the British side of this community where they always seem to plow over everything else going on in TSW with demands about British content.

No flames and this will probably get nuked by the OT Admin Police, but consider the position reversed?

The US route previewed and found to be wanting, but several clearly defined threads and concerns totally ignored by DTG. Not unreasonable to try and highlight the issue in the next preview thread we can assume the company is actually reading to prepare (ha!) for the stream.

The Boston Route should have been the US premier. Tsw 5 route ..San Bernadino. was to have been a TSW4 route release , then they shove it off till TSW 5 ..Betting that after the stream thurs these forum s will be lit up with fury and disappointment again..ill prob watch the stream or some of it more for entertainment see if they botch another one ...

That would leave one out of three, the German route, which frankly apart from Flixtrain is not radically different from the existing DB content. Finger hovering…

As a quick note, if you haven't already, please check out yesterday's article, which details a lot of what the gameplay looks like on the route.

(as well as, as ever, some pretty screenshots).

Well, tbh there is not so much left that would be completely new regarding Germany. I mean: The reason why so many people like the German content is that everything is compatible with almost everything. That’s why Riesa-Dresden was liked so much- because of the variety. Frankfurt-Fulda will have even more variety and is also the first route in Germany to feature more than 3 safety systems at a time. We also get our first tilting high speed train for Germany and the biggest station up to now. So I wouldn’t say there is nothing really new here :)

Apart from that: Another question for the US route:

Why did you decide to implement the newest livery along with the “normal” livery for the coaches? Because the new loco has the old paint scheme which is found on many wagons still today?
Nevertheless you decided to take the newer version in silver with the single blue stripe instead of the white-blue one.
It would really interest me why this decision was made and maybe if there are plans to add the old paint scheme at some point soon?

Fair enough then, but what about some response from the team to the genuine concerns that have been raised? And not the platitudinous waffle that Alex posted on Friday. Please.

How did the reference trip(s) inform the updates and changes made to the MP36Ph? How did Metrolink react and support the development of the San Bernardino line?

Q: Does the timetable include full AI services for the lines at LA Union other than the San Bernardino line? Ie the Antelope, Ventura, etc.

I would like to echo the request for some close ups of the I-10 highway and the road traffic, since it plays such a significant part of the line side scenery in the route.
