I'm doing the Sand Patch mission where you navigate 2 EMD's down the yard to fetch 8 freight cars and bring them back up.

I'm having a problem with the lead loco maintaining brake cylinder pressure. I have to operate in Run 6 or better with 2 light locos to overcome the brakes and I can tell it's dragging... Reduce the throttle to 4 and come to an immediate stop.

I've tried everything to clear the brakes and nothing seems to work... Hand brake, brake settings in the second unit, nothing

    ...lead unit checks:
MU-2A valve set to Lead or Dead
Cut-out valve set to Freight, auto-brake handle fully released
Dynamic brake and Independent brake fully released

    ...trail unit checks:
MU-2A valve set to Trail 6 or 26
Cut-out valve set to Cut-out, auto-brake handle set to Handle Off
Dynamic brake and Independent brake fully released

    Questions:
Is the trailing unit up and running, powering up and down in sync with the lead unit?

It was the MU-2A valve in the trailing unit.
    Thank you so much!

I also have this issue in a number of journeys, I usually fixed it by restarting the scenario. Can I ask what/where is the MU-2A valve?

If you're in a Caltrain/UP or older CSX loco (not the AC4400), the MU-2A valve is located on the bottom left side of the engineer’s stand near the floor. This valve is related to configuring two or more directly-connected locos for multi-unit (MU) operation. The lead unit will always have the MU-2A valve set to ‘Lead or Dead‘, while any trailing units in the group are typically set to ‘Trail 6 or 26‘ (referring to the auto brake type in the locos).

Hope that helps... it’s confusing for anybody at first- believe me, I’ve been there too. ;-)

Many thanks, so obvious when you know how, but that’s stopped a lot of frustration for me
