For this 5 year old route I would like to see it be extended all the way to Connellsville Pennsylvania, but I don't know at all how long this extension is because of what I seen in MSFS that the extension looks way longer than the actual section of the current route. I believe in even an Amtrak train that its trip between the station in Cumberland to the one in Connellsville, it looks like a close 5 hour journey, more on that with the CSX freight trains. The route also looks like it's around 150 miles if you include the section from Cumberland to Rockwood. So all that going across hundreds of curves on slow speed limits and steep gradients, it would still be a nice route, but a very long journey through the Allegheny Mountains. It reminds me of that post I did on the BNSF Marias Pass.
Oh yes. Since it is long like you mentioned, we might not get the whole thing but it would be a great way to also improve the physics to be similar to sherman hill, longer consists, more locomotives, better sounds (even a new horn alone would be great), more to do with the timetable and new lighting and clouds and fixing some bugs. Spg is one of my favorite freight routes and it's always great to have more.
For the extension, we could get a couple new CSX diesels. I'd suggest the GP40-2/GP40-3, SD40-3, GP38-3, SD70AC (rebuilt SD70MAC), ET44AH, ES44AH, or ST70AH (CSX SD70ACe-T4). An MP15 or Genset would also be cool for Cumberland Yard. The Amtrak P42DC would be nice to see as well as the CSX Heritage F40PHs with their business train.
hopefully a route that long could be done theres german routes 100 mile + or how about the main route + 2 add ons ??
Are you trying to make this the Eastern Time Zone equivalent of train simulator classic Pacific to Mountain time zone Kicking Horse Pass route and Mountain Time Zone Marias Pass routes? Remember some of the trains here have a mid unit DPU sadly you cannot control them using the banking comm system
