    TSW2. One problem I have experienced is when first pulling away, is that the rear train engine brakes are full (locked) on - squeaking loud. I even walked to the other end and sat in the driver’s seat to try and release them - no luck. Also tried the brake on the outside, still locked on. I also disconnected from the rest of the train – still no luck. I'm sure this is a bug?

    Hi Trevor, may I know in the Part I of Powering America senario the instruction told me to release break for 5 minutes until next destination appears on the screen. I held independent break to 'bail off' position for nearly 10 min and still nothing happened. May I know how did you go through that part? Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
    I don't think it's because of the time the brakes have been off. Thanks anyway.

    I have run this scenario again this morning and it still looks wrong to me. I have included some pics off the brakes positions.
    Please note, you can still drive the scenario OK and it does (most likely) make the adhesion more interesting.

    Having fun and loving the improvements
    Trevor

    Pic 01 is lead engine brakes off.
    Pic 02 last wagon brakes off.
    Pic 03 last wagon brakes off.
    Pic 04 rear engine brakes cylinder on.
    Pic 05 rear engine brakes shoes on.

    Found the solution to this problem from another thread.
    see:
    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/solved-tsw-2-distributed-power-not-working-correctly.25726/

    Basically TSW 1 & 2 have the same issue and it's to do with the train setup [and lack of my own knowledge]

    This is from the above link:

    So the correct setup should be (according to the wiki): https://train-sim-world.fandom.com/wiki/Driving_the_SD40-2,_GP38-2_and_GP40-2

    Locomotive 1 (LEAD):
    MU-2A valve -> Lead or Dead
    Cutoff Valve -> Freight
    Engine Run , Generator Field ,Control & Fuel Pump: ON
    Radio -> On

    Locomotive 2 (TRAIL):
    MU-2A valve -> TRAIL 6 OR 26
    Cutoff Valve -> Cutout
    Engine Run , Generator Field ,Control & Fuel Pump: OFF
    Radio -> Off

    Locomotive 3 (Should be setup as a lead train):
    MU-2A valve -> Lead or Dead
    Cutoff Valve -> Freight
    Engine Run , Generator Field ,Control & Fuel Pump: ON
    Radio -> On

    Locomotive 4 (TRAIL):
    MU-2A valve -> TRAIL 6 OR 26
    Cutoff Valve -> Cutout
    Engine Run , Generator Field ,Control & Fuel Pump: OFF
    Radio -> Off

    and:
    Try turning the radio on in the lead loco and activating the banking comm. I spent half hour or so yesterday with the same problem until I turned on the banking comm. it activates locos on the same train that are not directly connected to the lead loco.
    ---

    Please note. AC4400CW does not have banking comm, just radio circuit breaker. The rear engine [Locomotive] is number 3. Also had to walk to rear engine and back again.

    See post below for update on grayed out text.

    Update to above.

    Please note.
    AC4400CW does have banking comm. It's above the window. Just turn it on and all is fixed [no need to walk to the other end].

    :cool:

    'Ctrl - & Ctrl =' can also be used for changing loco's.

    The player needs to be seated in the engineers chair when using this key binding.

    Sorry for being dumb, but do you mean the drivers position or the secondmans seat? I tried from the drivers position, and the CTRL with + and = does nothing for me

    Drivers position, you must be in the seat, and using buttons next to '0' and not Num Lock pad ones

    Thank you Trevor. I was tearing my hair out wondering why my train wouldn't move after stopping at Viaduct Junction ... it had worked perfectly up until that point, even having used a save game earlier. I didn't realise there was a banking comm either but I looked above as per your message and hey presto, I was on my way. Couldn't have been simpler after that. You're a life saver and my head/hair is very grateful too. :D

    Just for the sake of anyone new playing who finds him/herself here trying to complete this is that, as Trevor rightly said, no need to change locos/walk to the other end, just turn the banking radio on above the window and your locos will move just fine after that. :)

    Just be aware guys, if you shoot a light and have to reload a save (very wise in this scenario) then not the reload WILL turn the generator switch OFF. It has to be put back on to continue. Its on the black panel at knee level as you sit. Or 3 left presses of arrow keys.
