Climb aboard familiar traction in classic freight-hauling liveries with High Iron Simulations' first Add-on for Train Sim World! Santa Fe on Cajon Pass, is out now!

Approximate release times: 1000 UTC PlayStation & Xbox, 1600 UTC Epic Games, 1800 UTC Steam

In this Add-on for Train Sim World 6, the lavish colors of the ATSF repopulate the rugged Cajon Pass route, recreating the experience of the early 1990s - the final years of Santa Fe operations. Embark on a variety of duties with 2 classic examples of ATSF equipment; the C40-8W and SD40-2, in iconic Warbonnet and freight liveries.

Utilizing a new trio of freight cars from ATSF’s roster, as well as contemporary variations of existing equipment, get to work hauling locals, switching in yards and running mainline manifests, as well as hefty intermodals across an all-new timetable based on real Santa Fe schedules, and 5 new scenarios.

    Locomotives and Rolling Stock:
    Included in the Add-on are:
    • C40-8W in Warbonnet red-and-silver livery
    • SD40-2 in AT&SF blue-and-yellow freight livery
    • NEW Santa Fe two-bay cement covered hopper
    • NEW Santa Fe three-bay ribbed-side covered hopper
    • NEW 86-foot auto parts boxcar
    • plus existing freight stock in Santa Fe liveries
Train Sim World 6: Santa Fe on Cajon Pass is out now for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store, and Steam for $17.99/£14.99/€17.99
Please note that Santa Fe on Cajon Pass will be released on PC and 9th Gen Console platforms only.

What's next for High Iron Simulations?

In our November Roadmap, we revealed that High Iron Simulations are working on a BNSF GP60M loco Add-on, in addition to longer term development of their first route Add-on. This will add further gameplay to Cajon Pass and Scenarios to San Bernardino Line.

    The Route: Cajon Pass
    [IMG]

The Cajon Pass route Add-on is required to make use of the gameplay in the Santa Fe Add-on. The standard route and schedule is set in the early 2000s, featuring the bold livery of BNSF.

85-miles (136 km) of route between Barstow and San Bernardino, California offer stunning scenery and challenging gradients for long freight consists. Unlike the Santa Fe pack, the Cajon Pass Add-on features the state-of-the-art ES44C4 diesel electric locomotive in addition to the BNSF variant of the SD40-2.
Players of passenger-focused California route Add-ons San Bernardino Line and Antelope Valley Line can expand their operations with both layered services and Route Hopping with the Cajon Pass Add-on.

Can we go the other way as well and get the San Bernardino Metrolinks to layer onto Cajon Pass as AI please.. Would make that area a little more lifelike and immersive!

Maybe the problem with that is that the passenger station at San Bernardino on the Cajon Pass DLC isn't fully modelled.

Its there! Its a little frustrating already we cant get Amtrak on it but having the Metrolink San Bernardino and Inland empire lines as AI, although only there for a little bit of time would add so much to the Line when running freight or shunting, especially as the inland empire runs directly through the south yard!

Jamie, is there anyway to find products released at the time in the Microsoft UK store. I can find them on play station immediately but never on Xbox. I still cannot find it searching on Xbox apart for paying 40RM whichever country that is. It really is a nightmare finding new TSW6 releases on Xbox and there is another release next Tuesday which will provide the same stress and headache trying to purchase it. It’s not fun. No problem with Steam, it’s always there on time.

Articles always have the links in them when they are released, which should work.

The exteriors have had some minor changes to better fit the era. The cabs are basically copy and paste however.

£15 for what is essentially 2 liveries, 3 scenarios and a few timetable services?

Not only do American players get less DLC, they also get fleeced when they finally get some...

So, it is a little more than that, although it is still fair to question the value even when considering what you actually get.

You forgot to add the 3 new freight cars, although they are pretty bad.
