Xbox Save Game

Wasn't a save game patch supposed to be released this week , held over from last week. Anybody any info.

 

I was wondering the same thing. Where is the patch Dovetail? This is beyond annoying.

 

Last update was that it was in QA and still planned this week.

Maybe it still comes, but unless it appears tonight, I think it’s unlikely to release on a Friday.

 

I agree with you 100%. If it doesn't get released soon, we are looking at next week. They delayed last weeks fixes so they could add the save function (which is much needed). This game was not ready for release.

 

Pretty normal for this game I’m afraid. Still, I’d rather they tested the save function properly and release it next week than rush it out untested this week.

 

Could be wrong, but I don’t think any of the fixes for Save were planned. Just the toggle to switch it back on.

However I agree, better to do more testing than release something broken.

 

Patience is a virtue. I’m so happy the toggle is coming I can wait for it.

TLDR: patch probably next week including save game toggle but not any save game fixes as they are not yet ready

 

The patch and timeline has been announced. Great news.

 

I just downloaded the patch (for PC via Steam) that includes the Save Game toggle in the setting/options menu. I haven't tested it yet but it's supposed to work like the TSW2 version. You will need to stop your train, exit the cab, and then save the game for it to work properly.

 

I’ve never had to do any of that to restore successfully

I think it’s out on Xbox I’m seeing numerous updates.

 

I'm seeing 15 add-on updates, but no core game update.

 

Idk I’ve lost track of them all I assume it’s part of it somewhere. Im hopefully close to done.

 

I have all the updates but no toggle in the settings. Picture said in general settings I’ve checked them all no toggle

It's just gone up now, along with another 2 DLC updates - MP36 and Harlem Line.

 

I tried rebooting the game. No dice perhaps there is still an update we didn’t get to the core game. Ensor42 didnt see it and I wasn’t sure. I’ll bet it isn’t there yet.

 

I still see 0 updates under manage my game

 

I also see that I’ve installed the Harlem line update

 

Aha I found it. I had to go to manage updates for all my games. It was there and NOT listed under manage game

 

And the toggle is there now.

so to find the core update Xbox button -> my games and apps -> see all -> manage updates

 

Where did the hot keys go? It’s much easier to press y from the pause menu to save the game rather than scroll to opens and then down to choose it.

 

Haven't had a chance to update yet. I do recall in another thread Matt saying the extra steps were the only way to get save into the game at this time, but it will be put back in its normal position pending further updates.

 

Ahhh ok that I can appreciate. It’s not terrible the way it is. I noticed all of the hot keys are gone from the pause but they still work. Example x still opens map. Hopefully y will be back too as they roll out their save game fixes.
