Hello Forum Members, I believe it's true you can only save one session/scenario in TSW3. Does anyone know where this file is saved and it's accessible? My thought was to remove it to a separated folder and rename it for future use. That way you could have multiple saved games and use them anytime you like. Is this possible? Thanks, Ed
Good idea. The saved game is a single file that can be manipulated by making many copies and categorizing them in some way, replacing the main file when a certain route setup is desired. You could try this if you are ok with file swapping: The main file starts with "TSWSaveGame..." 1. Go to "C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld3\Saved\SaveGames" folder. 2. Make a copy of the file "TSWSaveGame_EXAMPLE.sav" where EXAMPLE is your game name. 3. Rename this copy as the location or train or whatever and clean it up: EX: "TSWSaveGame_LindaRonstadt - Copy.sav" becomes "TSWSaveGame_LindaRonstadt.sav.boston0815" 4. Once you do another save, repeat the above but rename the copy after the new location or whatever. EX: "TSWSaveGame_LindaRonstadt - Copy.sav" becomes "TSWSaveGame_LindaRonstadt.sav.boston2015" 5. You can move these files out to somewhere else, or just leave them where they are. 6. Now just replace the main file with a copy of your choice by deleting the old and copy/rename the new. Be careful of filename, no typos. I just tried this and it works. As far as breaking anything, the setup was as I left it after it was replaced so I'd say no to that. One could design a menu system to shuffle the files automatically if one desired. And after an update, all bets are off as to whether they'll break.
Has anyone tried, if the savegame manager still works? https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/savegame-manager-tool.36531/
Thanks hyperlord I was unaware of such a program. It does work. I tried and saved off a few to make sure.
