I had my first look at this yesterday. I was curious how quick the tube train was and thought what better place to try than the high speed German line.

First thing that jumped out at me is when selecting stations why do they appear in alphabetical as opposed to line order? Seemed illogical and a pain with no station names on map.

Anyhow I found a station either end of the high speed and thought brilliant, let’s see what this old thing can do. The answer, nothing, I could only select two trains. Are the trains station selection dependant as I could only select two German ones?

When you start a new custom scenario there is a check box that says off the rails this must be selected in order to use any loco on any route

This is one of my main grievances with the scenario editor....hopefully in the future they allow us to select stations from the map. The way it is currently it is all guesswork on where the stops actually are along the route. I find myself having to back out completely and go to timetable mode to see where they are (from the spawn on foot section) or have the route map open on the 2nd screen.

In other words...it's all very clumsy in its current form

You cannot just jump in if you want to do anything interesting. Instead do some planning ahead. I can recommend to to read the Scenario Planner Guide I created. It will help you with the planning and for some routes I already have done part of the cumbersome preparations for you.

    Download it here:

You need to navigate to the TSW page and you also may download the planning excel sheets. These help you to design your scenarios.
