The Scenario Planner is cool and all, but it could definitely use some work. Here are some things I’d like to see added/changed with the Scenario Planner.

    1. The next objective starts as soon as the train stops at a station. This means that when entering a Terminal, the Scenario will just end, instead of letting the player open/close the doors. I’d like to be able to get to a terminal, and shut down the train.

    2. Timetable in Scenario Planner. This was sorta mentioned yesterday on the Roadmap Stream, but I’d like to be able to either create my own timetable, or use the existing Timetable in the Scenario Planner.

    3. A similar “Scenario Creator” to what’s seen in the regular Scenarios. I’d like to be able to route a train onto a certain track, wait for x minutes, and send it to another location. This would add more functionality to the Scenario Planner, and it would give players the opportunity to make engaging & interesting scenarios.

I was playing with scenario planner on Sand Patch Grade. I wanted to effectively create a couple of sections of single track by parking consists at Sandpatch eastbound and Hyndman westbound.

There are surprisingly few crossovers on this route, so I carefully chose those locations to create the most operational interest. I set consists there and gave them a starting time of three hours after the player train, so that they wouldn’t move.

Much to my consternation, the dispatcher would not route the player train or any of the AI trains around the stopped consists.

Does the dispatcher work differently in scenario planner than it does in service mode?

If so, how will it handle a single track line with passing tracks like the Clinchfield? Will it simply route the player train straight through and stop everything else? I hope not.

It would be great if the dynamic dispatcher that we enjoy in service mode would carry over into scenario planner.
