I would like to kick-off this newly created thread post by saying that, having Scenario Planner in train sim world for both PC and Console platforms is a great way to create extra gameplay beit, custom livery for said train, custom scenarios to extend gameplay, custom formations for said train, I mean, the sky is really the limit in-terms of the level of customizability at your fingertips. Now, I think that by now, most of the TSW players would know that, Scenario Planner does have it's limitations that can hinder the realism when creating for example, a scenario based on a specific route. With that being said, i would like to start on the following issues that i have encountered from my experience with Scenario Planner in TSW and in-particular WCMLS - London to Milton Keynes route. Although other routes share the same fate, I'll just be sticking to WCMLS as what's listed below is on other routes aswell... When setting a train's path, searching only for "London Euston" will net you some (not all 16platforms) + certain platfroms at "London Euston" havnt got correct ways out of "London Euston" for example P1, "London Euston" only goes as far as a near-by siding where-as in real-life, it would default to Line X (Fast) When creating a scenario that starts at "Watford Junction" (P1-P4), "Watford High Street" isnt there to be a stop at instruction but, if you start at "London Euston", "Watford High Street" is visible and can be used as a stop at instruction. I can only wish that, the devs behind the route creation of WCMLS - London to Milton Keynes can, take these noted issues and possibly fix them (and of-cause, look into other routes that share the same fate) so that, Scenario Planner can better improve the player experience in the long-term.
I'm of opinion that Scenario planner is not fit for purpose. It really stifles creativity. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/scenario-planner.86380/
Trouble is, unless mass players speak out about the issues the Scenario Planner has, nothing will get changed. I've already put out three points of entry about this and am waiting for a response. Hopefully soon of-cause.
