Since the release of free roam (which I think is brilliant) to TSW, scenario Planner (for me anyways) has been put a bit on the back foot. Maybe because free roam is alot more expansive and you can go to wherever you want other than set destinations with scenario Planner. However, scenario Planner has it so you can have ai services run and recently, with the edition of multiple legs for each service. I feel that these two should be integrated for scenario Planner. Instead of having set points of which we start and finish at, maybe have it where you select your start point like in free roam with the tool on the map and then select an end point the same way. This would open up scenario Planner alot more and would make anyone making custom scenarios alot better. I know there are probably complications implementing this before anyone leaves any comments saying otherwise, but it's not like its a completely new concept as it's already in the game. Thanks for reading.
When it comes to scenario planner, I'm becoming a bit of a broken record. The lack of paths for just about every route is pitiful. The worse offender is Rivet's Fife Circle which allows just one platform at Edinburgh Waverley meaning, you start or end scenarios in an empty station! At the very least every route needs a whole bunch of paths added, mostly AI paths from/to portals to/from terminus stations, so we can populate them with trains. Also need paths to/from depots as most routes don't have it. Back when I used to write activities for Microsoft Train Simulator, you had complete control over the paths, I could send trains anywhere and I could write acts to pick up/drop off wagons, coaches etc. I'm lucky if I can do a simple passenger run in TSW as it's so restrictive. MSTS was over 20 years ago and I feel we've gone backwards since. The community can help keep routes alive and popular but the current scenario restrictions make it extremely difficult to do anything remotely authentic.
Adding to what you said about paths I also dislike how you cannot use platform 5 at Hayes & Harlington on GWE to run along the slow lines only giving you the option to run along the fast lines
