Hi all Just wondering is there a tutorial on how to use the scenario planner in TSW 4 ? Not sure I understand what it’s about really so any pointers much appreciated.
Thanks for reply. I found one on youtube that Matt did from DTG so will try and follow that. One thing he was mentioning in the vid was portals. I have no idea what Portals are so was a bit lost at that point.
Portals are bits of track where AI trains can go off map. I don't know what routes you own and are familiar with, so I use the East Coast Mainline route as an example: The ECML in game goes from Peterborough to Doncaster. However, in real life, the ECML goes from London to Edinburgh. When playing service mode, you can drive from Peterborough to Doncaster, but then the AI will take over at Doncaster and drive it further north into a portal (simulating going to York and Edinburgh). Likewise, if heading south, the AI will take over at Peterborough and drive into the portal south of Peterborough (simulating going to King's Cross). There are also portals on the route that would represent Norwich (for EMR services that go there) and Nottingham (for EMR services that go there). You can drive those EMR services between Peterborough and Grantham, but then the AI will take over to drive it into a portal and remove it from the map.
