I recently came across a scenario with a known glitch that made it unfinishable (and which has gone straight out of my head for the moment), but I thought it would be handy to compile a list below of scenarios with known glitches, whether they are resolvable/work arounds exist, whether they indeed can be completed. Over to you….
In the Technical Reports forum there are a number of posts over the years about being unable to complete a scenario
Is there any need for this thread? If a scenario is broken look for a fix (Google is a thing) if there is no fix look at learning how to fix it yourself, if neither of those are options, play another scenario there's enough of them out there.
Indeed, collections have been compiled over the years but there is a grand excuse against fixing any. Google usually helps verifying that the problem isn't on my end. I generally play scenarios three times (screenshots, score, fun), otherwise don't care about score or anything anymore. Why? Because it's more efficient (better use of my time) to play the next scenario than trying to score a few more points. Ultimately it's nicer to drive safely and realistically and feel good about it. XP just adds up anyway. And when broken, well then.
I have come upon a good few, myself. The only use for a list would be an official scenario list. Any other scenarios, it's not worth looking at due to, as has already been stated, numerous other options. (Basically, payware are what I'd count a list for.)
One of the ones I came across was on the Chatham Mainline when using the old AP class 375/377 sound pack. Can't remember for the life of me what the name of it was but when you enter the cab and put the train into forward the AWS won't reset when you hit the Q key and you can't move the train. Yet if you switch cabs you can move the train backwards I believe.
I have a friend who was playing a scenario with a loco you can't get on Steam that was on a route that he can't remember, that wouldn't respond to its controls after loading from a saved game. But, yeah, who cares?
