All time when i make a route, and i place trees, bushes, buildings, etc., and when i save my work, most of the scenery disappears, does someone know why is it happening?
It is likely to be the draw distance (which you access in the r-hand side flyout menu). This determines how close you have to be to an object before it appears on-screen. If this is low (2 or 3) or very low (1) then the object won't appear until you are very close (if at all). The allocation of this appears to be rather random I'm afraid (even thought there is a parameter inside the object's bin which should help to set it). To fix: Get close to the object and hover your mouse where it should be - it will appear. Then click on it and change the draw distance in the flyout to something from 4 upwards depending on how large/important it is for the scenery to work. The operation of the draw distance in-game is set by the slider in your settings box - so if set to maximum then (in theory) it should show everything regardless. In reality this doesn't seem to be the case. Someone more expert than me may be able to add more accurate info. I don't have the game at hand so I can't tell you the real names of the relevant boxes but hopefully it will become obvious.
I have this issue as well! Place down a tree, building or whatever then you save your route, return back to it and some of your hard work is completely gone!! However, the objects are still in place, I have also noticed this while viewing 'payware' routes in the editor objects in those routes aren't showing as they should. It's nothing to do with the viewing distance as previously stated. I think it's an in-game bug that doesn't finish rendering each object correctly while your route is saving and mine too. There is a trick I've learnt myself, delete that hidden object. 1) Place the object down 3 times, next to each other 2) Save & Exit your route 3) Reload your route, navigate to the area 'if you are doing a large are not the latitude/longitude' reference so you can return to that spot in the editor. Note: You will only see maybe 1 or those 3 object showing or maybe even all 3 of those objects or maybe even 2 of those object showing in your route. Delete the hidden object or objects. Then save your route again, then continue to repeat the process as stated above each time you place down a new piece of scenery. Yes, it's going to be very, very frustrating.
To see all scenery items while Driving : Opening Screen > Settings > Graphics > Advanced > Scenery Density slider >> fully to the right (The Default setting is less than this so some stuff will always be hidden unless you move it) In the Editor: The 'Detail Level' slider is in the bottom left fly-out. Push it fully right to see everything. Double click a scenery item to open its property box, top right. The value in the 'Detail Level' box, 5th row, determines when it will be hidden. This number is allocated randomly as you add items to the route (unless you use copy/paste).
It's NOTHING to do with that! How confused are you? Place a few objects in a route and save it, exit and reload. Some objects that you have just placed has turned out completely invisible. It's NOTHING in driving mode or the detail level of an object. It's clearly a bug with the game trying to render the object once the route had been saved. Give it a shot and see for yourself! Why not make a video as your doing it too.. The game does bug out some scenery objects that you have placed into a route.. I have also noticed this in payware routes, as I've stated above 'CLEARLY' I did not edit them, doesn't take much to move the mouse around in the Editor and see that hmm, why is this object hidden! GO FIGURE.. It's a BUG!!
Sorry just trying to be helpful. But please confirm you have moved the scenery density sliders to maximum.
My friend, with respect, the issue is as I (and pgdlrailworks) have stated. The objects are still there but set to a Detail Level that is too low (often 1). I have seen, and corrected, this more than a thousand times (I would guess) over the course of fourteen years of routework. You lay a new object and then move off only to realise it has disappeared. So you go back, move the mouse around until the object pops back into life and then dbl-click, change the detail level to some value from 4 upwards (depending on how far away you want the render engine to show it) and move on with life. There IS a bug in that after some (unrelated edits) a previously visible object gets its detail level downgraded to '1' and therefore disappears. I have periodically taken to using rwtools to change any 'detail level=1 (2,3)' up to at least 4. Now, in fairness, I haven't witnessed this bug in operation following recent upgrades so they may already have fixed it. The issue with newly-laid objects getting a useless detail level setting IS still around. Nowadays I watch and correct for it almost automatically. What I have never done is actually report it as something that needs changing. The parameters exist inside the object blueprints but I have never seen any creator set them to anything other than the defaults. Maybe just doing that will resolve the issue? I may have a little play around to see.
I wonder if the detail level is randomly selected from the blueprint where you save an object, the default settings are "minimum 1" to "maximum 10" , I try to set the minimum on objects I create to at least 5 or 6 that seems to have stopped the game reassigning them down to 1. I don't understand why the detail level of an object needs to be that low unless it is very small, there really should be some logic in the view that can determine that a bridge (10m2) needs to be seen from hundreds of metres away and a flower (10cm2) only needs to be seen from 10 metres away. The blueprint editor should have a guide (mouse hover hint) as to what the minimum detail level should be for the size of object.
