This suggestion is for the 60km high speed line and regional line from the Austrian capital of Vienna, to the city of Sankt Pölten. with express trains running from Wien Central Station, and slower trains running from Wien West Station [IMG]

The express line running via Tullnerfeld sees a maximum operating speed of 250kph with journey times from Vienna to Sankt Pölten lasting around 30 minutes. The slower route, and arguably the more scenic route through the Vienna Woods takes about an hour. This route would be set between 2016 and 2020 as the new express line was only opened in 2012 and Vienna Central Station was only fully refurbished in 2015.

    Rolling Stock:
ES64U4 (OBB Class 1116) Railjet, this is already in the game, and came with the Semmeringbahn in OBB red colours so only the coaches and cabcar need to be made[IMG]

OBB 1144: This is a new train to the TSW world, entering service in the late 1970s, they've hauled freight and passenger trains across Austria. 215 were built, although starting in 2018 the oldest units would be retired and used for spare parts. On this route it would be used for hauling REX services from Vienna to Sankt Polten on the slow line, and hauling freight services. It would come with either double decker, or single deck CityShuttle Coaches with their respective cab cars, although some of these consists do have 1 locomotive at each end. [IMG]

OBB 4020 this one is for the S-Bahn, Much of the slower commuter route runs on the S-Bahn S-50 from Vienna West to Neulengbach amongst short stints on other S-Bahn line. [IMG]

    Opportunities for future Addons
OBB Class 2016: A siemens Diesel locomotive, this can subsitute the OBB 1142 on both some REX passenger services and can haul freight [IMG]

DB ICE 411 and 415: Simply the ICE T (For Tilting). Deutche Bahn operate the ICE T from Dortmund and Hamburg to Vienna where they join up in Wurzburg and run to Regensburg, Passau, Linz, Sankt Polten and then Vienna every 2 hours. Twice a day trains also operate from Berlin. The most basic difference between the 411 and 415 is length of the train, with the 411 having 7 cars, and 415 having 5 cars. But people with more technical knowhows on the ICE T series can tell you more about them [IMG]

    LAYERS AND SUBSTITUTIONS
    Semmeringbahn:
OBB 1116 can run Eurocity trains and substitute freight services

    Voralberg/ Semmering
OBB 4024: Substitute the 1142 and Cityshuttle coaches on regional routes

Points of Interest from West to East

    Vienna Technical museum
    Allianz Stadion

Excellent write up! I would really enjoy running the older EMU and push-pull stock.

I've wanted this route in Train Sim World 4, but I suggested it to Linz via Sankt Pölten. Also, you could include EuroCity and NightJet.

Bring it on and I went much further linking Wien Hbf to Salzburg Hbf on this route. It's on my signature therefore Wien Hbf Rosenheim if merged
