Hello all, I just completed the 4L88 run with no penalty other than a single overspeeding occurrence and scored 12024 points, a far cry from the platinum medal threshold of 19150. I suspect this is because the game engine was rewarding me with 30 points for each segment driven under the speed limit instead of 65 point, which appears to be the new norm for TSW4 routes. Is this a known issue? Has anyone else experienced such a thing on TSW4 routes?
With TSW4 an element of scoring was added to account for use of safety systems - meaning you would have to be running with the safety systems to get the full points per segment.
Thank you, I actually didn't know that, I thought having safety systems on was only worth a fixed bonus at the end of the run. But in this case I had indeed been running all safety systems from the start. I must say, though, that I've sometimes noticed on this route (albeit only with the fast passenger train, not the Class 66 freight engine) that I get a player tip popup encouraging me to turn on the safety systems despite their already being turned on. Perhaps there is a general problem with the game failing to properly account for these systems being activated.. By the way, is it normal for the scoring breakdown screen to always mention "N/A" under safety systems?
Try doing 6E70 - Acton TC to Tinsley. You finish driving at 8:51am and have to wait an hour until 9:51am for the service to end.... 3 hour timetable where you're only actually driving for an hour if that.
Interesting - could it be that the speed limits are set incorrectly? A 6 service should have a 60mph maximum speed limit. Is this enforced in game?
The speed limit was 60mph, and I was driving under 50mph most of the way, as the 66 couldn't get up the gradients. I also spent 30 minutes sitting at red signals in passing loops, and was still an hour early at the end of the service.
Ok yeah that is definitely set wrong. Wasn't there a time when freight services didn't have an end time? Why do they have end times now?
Both were on, yes. I also took the time to pace my train to respect the timetable (approx. 80 km in 2 hours), so undetected overspeeding couldn't be the culprit here.
Yeah, scoring in the Class 66 seems to be bugged after the recent Winter core update. Whether you have the safety systems on or not, the game will only award you +35AP for it.
Lol! They can't fix this system, forget about points and medals, they're useless. I would remove them altogether, since the developers are lazy to fix everything properly.
Having played another Class 66 service, that's indeed what happened. Thanks for sharing. Has DTG been made aware of the issue? Has someone filed a support request for this?
