It would be nice to have the TMS with all the voice announcements (with a neutral accent of course) and the MML guard AI on other British routes, when possible. Despite the bugs on the TMS, but that will be something for Rivet Games to fix. I do like the Scottish accent. Inverness/Edinburgh according to info from Rivet.

It'd be intresting but probably fairly hard to implement. Would be really good if it was used. Suprised announcements is actually only Scotrail Express. TBH the main reason there is an AI guard is to do with something with the 158 (forgot)albeit I do not have the MML so I have no way to say and it apparently isnt good on PS5 so I wouldnt know.

Yes, and it's Rivet Games who made it. Not easy. There are some bugs, but it was a first try, and that's a challenge. Many bugs fixed, though. As they are based in Edinburgh and I also found out that the woman who lends her voice is from Edinburgh and born in Inverness, it made some logic. Guess she's an employee. Wonder if Rivet can do more. Among the bagpipe and cannon sounds, it helps the Scottish atmospere. The MML was made by Skyhook, wasn't it? And the AI guard came in an update among several fixes. For me it works quite good now. I sent som support tickets, among other players, I guess, and it did help. But I have a PC, whith an Xbox controller.

I hope they use the real life announcement recording if they add more to the TMS.

This reminds me of a joke someone once told me:
    If there's a gun shot in Edinburgh it's 1'oclock

If there's a gun shot in Glasgow it's business as usual
    XD

    That's down to licensing unfortunately.

They have the ScotRail licenceing don't they??? What more do they need for a simple voice?? Can't they just record it when they record the sounds for the 385??? They still haven't gone out for a recording session so when they go out to record traction motors and stuff why can't they include the announcements? It just seems trivial to me.

They also need permission from the person who does the voices. ScotRail's license isn't handled the same way as Private operators, as they don't strictly need an agreement to use it (thanks, Scot Gov)

Oof. Maybe that's why it's taking so long then? I dunno. But that clears it up a bit. Thanks.

I don't think Rivet are actively pursuing it. The only thing they said they were working with ScotRail towards was getting a recording session for the 385. The voice would be a bonus.

Would it be better for Rivet to use the traction motor sounds from the AP IET soundset as they sound very similar. That's if AP is fine with it.

Nope. Would still sound too different. It would be a good tempory measure if rivet could actually implement ap sounds properly but we all know what happened with the 150 so it's probably better if we wait for a recording session.

That's a good one! I se your underline about Ayr. I'm from Östersund in Jämtland, Sweden, where the commuter train you see in my profile runs. We have the "Great Lake Monster" and mountains. If I speak my dialect not many Swedes from other places understand me. By the way, the is a display in the Loch Ness Museum about our monster. So you can understand I felt connected when I came to Inverness, Loch Ness and Kyle of Lochalsh. A funny thing: If I said "a brown cow" in my Jamtland accent, it would be "e brun ku" and east Scottish people probably would understand me. I guess it could relate to the Vikings. And my dialect to the Norwegians. I wish I could go back to Scotland some day. Who knows....

I find it very interesting about what you say about the "Great Lake Monster", I didn't realise our countries were so connected! Nice to meet you! :)

It's down to the system supplier to licence, not Scotrail

I believe some people have obtained the files via a Freedom of Information Request. And I'm sure PC types would find a way to mod these in. But it would be very dodgy legal ground to use them in a commercial product. Probably best to use a sound-a-like and make in house recordings

    That's annoying.

*rivet games currently taking fletcher Mathers hostage to record sounds* XD
    Wehey, we've got proper announcements!

(Lol, this is just a joke btw. Please don't kill me Jasper)

Someday i hope! Yes, you are right! Skye, Applecross, Shetland. And, of course Fort Williams - Mallaig, with the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct. Rannoch Moor... I could go on and on.

So someone FOI'd and then uploaded the Recordings to the internet and they got a DMCA Smackdown from ATOS Worldline - so that's who you'd need to deal with
