    Route: South Wales Coastal Route
    Train: Class 50 pre-TOPS

    December 1968, Newport Docks

Geoffrey's day finished off much worse than it began, when he couldn't stop his car from sliding on black ice into the path of the fortunately slow moving freight working to Bristol. Damage was light but there would be a mountain of paperwork awaiting him in the dockside offices...

Deputising for a Pacific or, just possibly, a type 4 Diesel, V2 60034 pulls away from Durham station and crosses the viaduct on a southbound express. The viaduct provides the best view of Durham and from here, the grounds of County Hospital, its arches frame the City's Norman Cathedral and Castle. The route is The Weardale and Teesdale Network in the '60s while the V2 is a little publicized "Easter egg" included with the Robinson O4.

King Henry V thunders between the tunnels in the striking Devonian sandstone cliffs as she approaches Dawlish. The Jurassic Coast further east may be better known but the County gives its name to this much more ancient period. Riviera in the '50s.

    Edited to correct a typo'.

Flying Scotsman is probably the most famous steam locomotive in the world. It was the first express passenger locomotive to be produced by the old London and North Eastern Railway (LNER), only two months after its formation in February 1923. Here, the engine climbs up the Settle and Carlisle, one of the most famous and scenic routes in the United Kingdom.

A nice picture but I've just thought that, although Hatchet Hill was availabe from Steam, it is no longer. Does that affect eligibility for the competition? I plead for a quick decision on this so Remko has a chance to post another picture if this entry is ruled ineligible.

I doubt that it would be a problem, since it is still considered 1st party, even if it was taken off sale. If it was 1st party before, why wouldn't it be now? This is what I think, so don't take my word for it ;)

Although it's a bit hard to find, the route STILL IS available in the Steam Store.
I bought the route myself during the big sale last December.
Attached is a screenshot I've made a few minutes ago.

Seems to settle that concern for the best then. I still can't find it in Steam- is it available in Britain?

Thank you very much. Hmm... I wonder how close I can get to that with a photo'.

    Regarding Hatchet Hill:
I did yes- thank you. Here it is as a link:
    https://store.steampowered.com/sub/11113

It's obviously not a usual store page, absolutely no information about the route, but it does seem that you can buy it from here. Still can't search Steam for it in the usual way though so I suppose it will be necessary to keep a note of this and check it specifically during sales. I wonder if the price ever comes down.

Last Steam christmas sale it was 70% off.
And it was 50% off during Steam sales in February and March.
