I have a screenshot but I want to turn it to black and white instead. How to do? Is it allowed to use photooptimizer programs for screenshot in contest?
The only thing was that I played it in color so I was wondering if it is allowed to change the picture from color to black and white after? And how do you change it to black and white in settings?
When driving, press Esc to bring up the Pause Menu. Select Camera Options. Change the Colour Filter to what you want. This isn't explained in the user guide.
While in game if you press Ctrl+Shift+F5 it cycles through Colour to B/W to Sepia and back to colour again. You can also change things like depth Depth of Field etc. I can't remember which F? keys do what from memory. I'll have seen them listed somewhere, have you tried the TS Manual? they may be in there. Just play around with Ctrl+Shift+F? (1-9) and see what you get. You can't do any harm but can add that creative element. As for changing after the shot was taken, not sure if that is allowed or not. Technically it is enhancing the image i.e. using Photoshop to lighten / darken adjust etc. which I don't think is allowed. On saying that I can't see why just switching to B/W should disclude you. [EDIT] Here you go:- Adaptive Bloom - Ctrl+Shift+F1 Toggles light intensity when moving from areas of darkness into areas of brightness or vice versa. Ambient Occlusion - Ctrl+Shift+F2 A shading and rendering technique used to calculate how exposed each point in a scene is to ambient lighting. This can greatly enhance the quality of soft shadows and lighting in a scene making the scene look considerably more realistic. Higher settings will require substantially more powerful hardware. Depth of Field - Ctrl+Shift+F4 Sets the distance between the nearest and the farthest objects that are in sharp focus in the scene. This artificially blurs the background and foreground to simulate the effect. Colour / B&W / Sepia - Ctrl+Shift+F5 Cycles through each option in turn. Dynamic DoF A camera mode that will dynamically adjust based on the scene presented. Note this is a camera creative mode and should not be used whilst driving. This can be toggled using the Ctrl+Shift+F4 keyboard shortcut whilst in a scenario.
Nevertheless, I saw it in color and now I'm wondering whether I'm permitted to convert the image to black and white. How do you change the color scheme to monochrome? phrazle
There's nothing in the rules stating you can't 'post edit' an image. You'll need to open the image in image editing software like PaintShopPro or photoshop or gimp or paint.net (last 2 are free) and edit it to black and white there
You can't use anything not on Steam so as to not misrepresent the game people can buy, but you can photoshop them. Brilliant.
DTG have never said that photoshopping is permitted. If Reshade isn't allowed, I doubt they'll be happy with photoshopping! Though the idea of submitting screenshots with DTG staff faces' superimposed on the driver seems quite fun.
They don't say it isn't either. Reshade is an in game shader. There's no mention of post shoot processing. They probably don't allow it, no, but I'm surprised they haven't mentioned it.
How could they even distinguish between basic Photoshop tweaking and computer colour/contrast/brightness settings anyway?
The rules literally say official content only, no mods. As for black & white (which is grayscale actually), assuming no other edits are made it's the same as the game post processing. To some extent same about lights, as there is a slider. Such minimal changes could be considered in spirit of the competition. Slippery slope, though. Bits of contrast, sharpening, 4K shot downscaled with AA intent, bits of AI stuff, and, yeah. We may not be able to tell it was tweaked, but we end up with Photoshop getting practically required to win. Although the winning quality is so far from that level, that I truly wouldn't care.
That depends what you do to it. If it was just some subtle colour adjustments, it wouldn't be obvious, no, unless you look at the image's metadata, which will say that it's been saved from Photoshop. Most people wouldn't consider this, and/or wouldn't know how to strip the metadata off.
