    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share another idea I’ve been thinking about — and I’d love to hear your thoughts too.

I think a lot of us can agree that while the route-Hopping feature in Train Sim World is a great concept in theory, in practice it still feels a bit clunky. It's a cool addition, don’t get me wrong, but the immersion tends to break when you're suddenly hit with a loading screen just to move from one route to another — especially when it's all meant to feel like a connected network.

So here’s my suggestion: Seamless Route Transition (SRT)

The idea is simple — rather than stopping and loading every time you move from one DLC route to another (e.g., going from the WCML to the Bakerloo line), the game would preload the necessary assets in the background. That way, you could continue your journey smoothly, without ever feeling like you’ve left the world. It’d be one continuous, living environment — the way rail should feel.

From my point of view as a regular player, I really think this would be a game-changer. It would make services feel more realistic, add a deeper sense of presence in the world, and truly bring the “Sim” in Train Sim World up to the next level. Personally, having seamless transitions would make that experience so much richer and more rewarding.

I get that something like this would be a huge technical undertaking, but if it were possible — even if only between selected routes initially — I believe it would really elevate the game’s realism and long-term replay value. It would also make better use of the DLC many of us have invested in, encouraging a more connected gameplay loop instead of hopping in and out of separate menus.

Anyway, just putting it out there!!!

This is way too complicated to develop and implement. You can't just load another route and glue it to the end. Besides that, you would also need to rewrite the timetable, as I doubt that the timetables don't conflict with each other. And the performance, if you say load KWG, FTF and FSB, would be even worse than it is now.
The better option would be to merge the two routes into one and have this merged version as its route. The same method is used in TSC. But the performance problem isn't solved with that, unless you also optimise the routes you merge.
Sure, it would be amazing to drive an ICE service from Kassel to Wiesbaden, with a direction change in Frankfurt, but the complexity of this feature isn't worth it. Besides, TSW has enough other technical problems to tackle at the moment.

Some DLCs need already way too much memory. Stressing the memory even more by loading simultaneously a second DLC is definitely a no-go.

With the amount of work involved to achieve this. I would much rather they do away with route hop and join the routes together. With dtg's stance on only modern stuff sells, the next installment of wcmls for example would be set in the same era, same timetable etc...
