The manual is well written and I’ve followed the start up procedure many, many times. I can usually open the top hood door latch but then not the bottom. The one time I did manage to open both latches then I couldn’t turn the prime/start switch. I’m dragging a mouse to operate latches, switches, etc. Tried using the lead engine in both a consist (Searchlight’s rolling stock) or running light to no avail. Tried restarting my computer from completely off to back on multiple times. Installed the the purchase confirmation code per the instructions. I use a RailDriver with the latest 64 bit PI files. I also tried CobraOne’s RD program and file conversion process but no luck. I don’t completely understand how Cobraone’s RD routine and PI’s routine play together. Do I open one or run both consecutively? I do know that PI’s RD has to be open for the RD to work no matter what. I use RD for navigation along with the mouse, but once at the starting station the mouse doesn’t “grab”. I was thinking on uninstalling and reinstalling the engine files. I don’t have this problem with other engines including 3rd party. I purchased the engine software from Searchlight’s site rather than Steam if that makes a difference. I haven’t read anyone else having this problem. Can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong….Rich
Does it work without RailDriver? I have the CP AC44 from Steam, but can't recall having issues with it (though I don't own a RailDriver). Maybe change the thread title to something more specific that will attract RD players to support you, like "Searchlight Ac4400 Raildriver Issues"
If you are using a Raildriver with Cobra one you must download and install a script provided from Searchlight Simulations. I have been using a Raildriver> Download and read the Raildriver manual at the bottom of the page. https://www.store.searchlight-simulations.com/products/ss-ac4400-cp-single-livery
It mouse acts the same without the RD connected. I did run Cobra’s RD app and let it do (a very long) file conversion. I tried running Cobra’s without opening RD64, but once the route opened there was no sound and the engine was unresponsive. Apparently PI’s RD program has to be running. Being the RD works very well with every other engine, including Searchlight’s SD40-2 bundle, I’m confused. The TSC file verification process didn’t indicate any problems. I deleted the ac4400 folder and did a reinstall. Now I’m in an error loop and basically locked out. I sent a support email to searchlight explaining everything. Hopefully they’ll get me running. Thanks for responding…Rich
After you deleted the AC4400 you must reinstall the key.dat file in the AC4400CW/RailVehicles/Diesel/Default folder. Do not run PI engineering software while using Cobra One. Use one or the other. Make sure PI Engineering does not auto start with Windows.
