Hi there, I recently acquired a train simulator with the goal of exploring Danish routes. However, when attempting to download these routes through the utilities page, a recurring error message appears. I've utilized both 7zip and Winrar in my attempts. I'm seeking assistance to resolve this issue.
You did not tell us what you were downloading, from where or even what the error message says How do we help you without more information?
I like a good puzzle, so let me try with the limited information I have. There are two types of errors that I tend to encounter in utilities.exe. One is the error that the assets are already installed; this happens quite a bit. You just need to make sure that you are keeping the most up to date version. The other error is a "zero byte" error which tends to crash the executable if you hit the wrong button. This usually means that the asset you're installing has a dependency on some other asset which is missing - you need to install the missing assets first. If you get the error press "cancel" instead of "OK" so you don't crash the program and so the other asset packs have a chance to install. I don't know anything about the Danish freeware scene but I would guess that there are a lot of core infrastructure assets that need to be in place before you can install any routes. Make sure you install all of the required assets, in the order listed in the documentation, before you install the route itself. Source: been spending a lot of time on rail-sim.de recently.
The OP mentions he was trying to Download the Files with Utilities - which you cannot do. You have to download first then install with Utilities - AFAIK Utilities does not give an error if the file is already installed.
