Currently SEHS is very passenger oriented which is great, I drive & enjoy the 395 on the route all the time, however I also love driving freight. SEHS has the wonderful Hoo Junction which is in the middle of the route, we all know what you can currently do so I won't go into that, what I feel is this route & Hoo could be so much more in regards to freight activitys, there could be more freight timetables, longer drives & maybe dare I say a route extension so freight can go further than Gravesend (obviously not through Ebbs Fleet) but turn off & head for Dartford & further afield, I personally would be happy to pay for a route extension & Freight timetable addition to better utilise SEHS & properly use Hoo to its full potential. Currently the best freight drive we have is Hoo Runaround but I feel this route has so much more to offer with just a few additions. Thanks Paul.
An extension at Strood to turn off the current route & head to wherever that line goes with a freight train would be great too
Yeah definitely, it would be nice to see a bit more freight on SEHS. Hoo, as you say, definitely has great potential for freight, and is always empty when I drive past. Good Idea!!!
The sheerness branch would be good, all you need to do is half the size of the 465 and there’s a freight terminal too
