I just drove a Class 395 Javelin at night for the first time on South East Highspeed, between Faversham and St. Pancras.

Every few seconds, the windscreen of the Class 395 starts flashing wildly, and it took me a while to discover what was causing the bug. It is basically a reflection of the sparking effect flash from the 3rd rail shoes, that is reflected on the windscreen.

I would say that this is a serious epilepsy risk, and should be a PRIORITY bug fix for DTG to sort out.

Yes, I know that you can disable 3rd rail flash effects in the options menu, but new players to the game probably don't know, unless they actually go searching for it.

As someone who's played since TSW2, this is news to me!

I recall that was reported by someone a few days ago, instantly dismissed by another forum member as "nitpickery".

Very expensive "nitpickery" if somebody sues DTG for medical reasons after playing SEHS and having an epileptic seizure...

I’m fairly certain as well that (on PS5 at least) the game doesn’t remember that you have turned sparking effects off and it defaults to “on” when you restart the game. I turned it off specifically for the 395 issue and I’ve seen sparks since then on other routes and I definitely didn’t turn it back on again myself.

I always wondered why the screen flashes on the Javelin at night.

Pretty sure the only reason Zenimax removed their recently implemented 30fps cap from the map in Elder Scrolls Online on console was because it was causing a serious photosensitive epilepsy issue with how it made the map screen strobe.

Simplest solution is to have the code altered so off by default? I don’t suffer from epilepsy but nonetheless find frequent strobing can be uncomfortable - even to this day if I watch the movie Alien, when Ripley makes her final escape run on the Nostromo to the escape shuttle, the intense strobing of the self destruct lights means I need to look away.

That was a hellfire episode. It’s going to stop, it’s going to stop… Er what do I do now as my oxygen counter hits zero.
