Although most, if not all, map collectibles show only that route, the Semmeringbahn map collectible shows three routes (two of which may be future releases):
    1. Semmeringbahn (in red)
    2. Schneebergbahn, from Wiener Neustadt to the Hochschneeberg mountain. From Wiener Neustadt to Puchberg and Schneeberg it runs as a standard gauge, adhesion railway (main section) and from Puchberg am Schneeberg to the Hochschneeberg as a narrow-gauge, cog railway (extension).
    3. Aspangbahn, from Wien Aspangbahnhof to Aspang (although only the section from Wiener Neustadt to Edlitz-Grimmenstein appears on the map collectible).

Although DTG have seemingly given up on steam trains, could DTG be planning to implement cog railways, e.g. Schneebergbahn or Achenseebahn (Jenbach-Seespitz) for Austria; Brünigbahn (Meiringen-Luzern) or Brienz Rothorn Bahn for Switzerland (Rivet Games); or Rheilffordd yr Wyddfa (Snowdon Mountain Railway) for Wales?

every single route map collectible on nearly all routes show places we don't have in TSW, as its just there to fill out the empty spots on the said maps. This is very unlikely to be a hint. However, we didn't think that the Salzburg poster on I believe Maintalbahn was rather not a hint too, but then we got Rosenheim-Salzburg. but I am still sceptical about this.

they have been doing that since Linke Rheinstrecke I think. it helps with realism and getting to know where you are a bit better

Route maps lately have taken a more realistic approach in some DLCs... older routes would just show a generic one that just had the lines/stations from the route in game.

Newer routes, like London Overground, use route maps that actually are a copy of the real life route map. So it looks as it should in real life and includes lines that aren't present in game. I think Voralberg had that too.

It is not a hidden hint of anything, just an improvement for immersion (a much welcome one, since they look WAY better on the routes).

I don't have the new route yet but I am assuming its the same idea here.

I know some people get excited about the off route destination PIS too. "Ohh the PIS says this train is going to XYC city, is that a hint that XYC city is being added to the game?" - no, its just for immersion.

Gotta say it looks way better and I'm actively trying to get them collected within the first services I drive on a new route if I see them. it's nice to see those newer route maps instead of the uncollected blank canvas when driving by.

Aspangbahn is actually very weird IRL... if you want to travel its whole length, you have to purchase THREE separate tickets and transfer two times...

first you take R95 from Wien Hbf to Traiskirchen Aspangbahn... there you go off the first 5047, walk a short distance to another "platform" to another R95 (5047) from there to Wiener Neustadt, joining the mainline around Sollenau I think (if you just enter Wien - Wiener Neustadt in OBB app, it doesnt offer the two legs of Aspangbahn at all, you have to search and purchase them separately)... and then in Wiener Neustadt you can take the last leg train to Aspang, which is either Desiro classic, or CityShuttle with Herkules (OBB 2016) loco :D

since I didnt have enough free budget I only took the first two sections of Aspangbahn, super interesting :) the driver had to toot the horn at every level crossing, since most of them were not at all protected, except for signs :D

Like it and speaking of this
this is connected to SFS Innsbruck Rosenheim at Jenbach. The Ideal solution for Achenseebahn is itself being a Branch to SFS Innsbruck Rosenheim complete with a Locomotive that advertises it
