Hi Ive played meanwhile lot of UK scenarios especially on Tees Valley and West Somerset but where are the refueling tasks on locos? Is it removed completly or did i miss something? I am not sure now but i can remember that on some US scenarios this tasks were available.... Would be great to such things back into game.
I havnt seen any refuelling tasks on any british routes apart from wcl. I think the freight duties are lacking, like unloading and loading freight. It always seems to be drive from point a to b. I think dtg said they wasn't really focused on freight as passenger services are more popular. On tsc there's coal loading, diesel refuelling, container loading unloading. Aggregate loading unloading. There's even scenarios where you start with a fully loaded freight train, dropping parts of the consist of at several locations along the route.
I agree with you. Game has lot of potential and loading/unloadiing freight would be a nice additional task. The shaunting could be also bigger. Refueling activities during or after shaunting would make it more interesting. Imagine recovery things after derailing...... but guess this idea will be wiped very fast. DTG Do you have a plan about such things? Bring more variety into the tasks?
Tees Valley is the only UK route with a more involved freight timetable, assuming you play services back to back via “Return to Free Roam” - you can take coal wagons to Redcar, empty them and return to Tees Yard with the empties. Definitely hope to see more focus on UK freight. For modern UK content, I’d like to see services pulled by something other than an EWS 66. You know like some of the older BR diesels that have been refurbished over the years like a DRS 37 or another modern locomotive like the class 70. I do love the upgraded 66 on SEHS but I want to see more variety going forward.
We need for sure more different tasks because to be honest attm its basically driving from A to B like dangerousdave already said. Thats not enough. Guess to add more different rail wagons is not a big deal and the areals to manage them are already available.
NTP has a refuel task in the timetable, and WSR and LPC have scenarios that feature refueling. But it's definitely an underused feature...
Southeast Coastway has aggregate loading although other than a short run up to Lewes not much else. What we need is a modern UK freight route with something that isn't a class 66. Would love to see a class 70 in game and perhaps some class 90's on an overhead electrified route.
