Here's a little thing I found and thought it might help a person or two.

On my route, I have a little bit of an awkward thing, which is a manual switch in the middle of the main track. In the real world, this switch is obviously locked in the straight position and can only be flipped with the permission of the dispatcher. In my case however, it's default position was pointing to the branch line which caused the block signal to go red until I went to the route map and flipped it.

The solution is pretty simple yet confusing. To change the default position of a switch, you have to go into the ribbon node placed where the tracks split. In there, you will find the Junction settings. Simply flip the initial state and override state and the switch should consistently spawn in the other position.

Something I've wanted to know for awhile now and just never got around to asking. Test runs will be much quicker now without having to go to the map and set junctions. Thanks!
