The only current heritage railway route currently in TSW is the West Somerset Railway. This route feels very old TSW, rolling fields and a bit of sea. I think a new and updated heritage line coming with exclusive steam locos is very much needed in TSW.

    The Route
The Severn Valley Railway is a heritage line in England that runs beetween Kidderminster and Bridgnorth. As of December 2023 it houses 37 steam and deisel locomotives several of which I envision coming to this route. The main stations on this route are as follows, Kidderminster, Bewdley, Arley, Highley, Hampton Loade and Bridgnorth with two request stops (Northwood Halt and Country Park Halt) along the way.
    Locos Included in Route

    Steam Locos

    West Country 34027 'Taw Valley
    [IMG]

GWR Hall Class 4930 'Hagley Hall'

    LMR WD Austerity 2-10-0 'Gordon'

    Diesel Locos

    D8568 Bo-Bo
    [IMG]

    Class 40 40106 'Atlantic Conveyor'

    Scenarios
Flood! - Rush with a matineance train to stop the over-flowing River Severn from damaging the railway
Christmas Special - Take charge of the Christmas Express. Look out for the decorated stations
'The Mystery Diner' - Take charge of fancy coaches on which a murder mystery is played out. Arrive at the perfect time to see the 'Police' rush onto the platform and arrest the 'murderer'.

We definitly need more heritage railways in TSW however, I believe that because DTG chose the longest heritage line for TSW's first heritage railway, this has cause some players to be against the idea of 'trundelling at no more then 25MPH for miles'. I, however, would love to see more heritage railways namely - Severn Valley, Great Central, Bluebell & East Lancs

I think as wel, because they didn't have steam trains in TSW 2020 steam enthusioasts aren't hugely into it given that to put steam locos on before free roam you would need to create a whole scenario, which felt a bit tedious.

I’m desperate to see the Great Central railway, I think this would work the best with having the double track. Allowing more services and allowing you to pass them along the double line. There’s goods loops at Swithland and the fairly new branch line. Gala setting on this route would be amazing. Including two separate timetables. Steam and diesel. Both including all current locos that suit plus a couple of new ones.

Interesting suggestion, a heritage railway like this would certainly be stunning to have simulated in the game. Though, I am not sure how popular it would be. But hey, fingers crossed. :)

I have visited many heritage railways and this one is by far the best. It will be far more interesting than the WSR for players as it is not so long, has many frequent stops, 2 MPD's, 1 TMD, and many other yards. It also operates a pretty intensive timetable, sometimes with 24/7 (Overnight) Running.

If dovetail ever implements this (Which I hope they do - but simultaneously doubt), I reckon it'd soon be a hit. Especially if it comes with 21C127 (34027) and 4930, as suggested.
