I am trying to use the F7 on Cajon pass but trying to get up the hills ends up stalling and is unable to reach the destination. I am using 3 unit setup with 3 on the unit selector, I have tried using both m/a with the transition cut switch but both have no effect when the direct transition mode is changed, there is no change to current and no change to providing any other levels of traction. I tried searching for information on how to unlock this from series but there is little other than speculation due to information on EMD being kept very secretive, especially compared with BUT that seem to have everything including wiring diagrams available online.

How do I get the direct traction controller to work?

    "Direct traction controller"?

If you mean manual transitions, it's purely cosmetic, just like the unit-number selector. The in-game model is automatic only.

You can actually switch the F7 into manual mode (a fictional switch on the rear of the cab) but AFAIK the selection lever is bugged and only unlocks in notch 8 for some unknown reason. This is true with the original CRR F7 as well.

    Cheers

Indirect resistance would be on the camshaft system like the SD series. How do I get up hills with the F7 if the resistance controller does not have any function?
