This line is freight only, with 1 train in each direction per day. The main area of the traffic would be around Rotherham, where the line mixes with passenger services. Proposed Rolling Stock Class 60 in DB Schenker livery Whilst nowadays it’s uncommon to see a Class 60 on this working, it has happened before and it would also be refreshing to see a modern freight service that isn’t hauled by a Class 66. These would utilise BZA wagons to carry the steel. Class 150/2 in Northern livery Would be used on all Northern passenger services. Class 399 ‘TramTrain’ in Sheffield SuperTram livery Would run from Meadowhall to Parkgate and back. Something a bit different to say the least, with a top speed of 55mph.
