Some not super high priority, but noticeable bugs I've found. Real quick, I'd like to give a shout out to whoever set up the locos in the route. Almost every single switch/button in the cabs of both the SD40 and SD70 are interactive, even if they actually do nothing. Love it! Needs to be the standard of all locos. SD40 -Crossing chains don't animate on the rear only (the front ones do) -Engine start bug that popped up in SPG when TSW2 launched is still present on this loco. Turn the start switch to prime, the audio plays for about 4 seconds and then stops. If you turn the switch to start there is no reaction for about 15 seconds. In addition, pressing the Z key skips the prime so the engine can't start. -Exterior camera can't interact with windows or any controls in cab. This becomes an issue if SD40s are the "DPUs" in the consist and you're trying to monitor them -Using sand doesn't illuminate the Sand light -Dynamic brake fans (the forward two) spin even when not using Dynamic Brakes -MU headlight control switch HUD text doesn't match the loco switch text SD70 -Because of the narrowness of the paths on the loco, walking along long hood can sometimes for you up on top of the railing Both Locos The MU headlight control switch doesn't work. Setting lead loco to "controlling w/ unit coupled at long hood end" and a trailing loco with "controlled by unit coupled at either end", and then turning on the read headlights in the lead loco does not turn on the rear headlights of the trailing loco. Non-specific -Ctrl+= / Ctrl+- don't work on the long trains. The HUD will switch if you press it enough times, but you remain in the lead cab
Much more significant bug...Save Games -DPU connection doesn't resume automatically after save game -Choosing a winter snow weather, resumes with rain and transitions back to snow after some time Saving significantly messes up signalling in this route. Running a grain service from Laramie to Cheyenne (starts just before noon, not sure of which specific service), started it last night and saved it to pick up today. Can't remember where the save picks up at, but I let the train get a little away from me and stopped it at about 13 miles to the end stop point. While waiting for the train to recharge, I popped back to the DPUs and found an AI train right behind me. When I started moving again, the train followed me, quite closely, until the next signal where it stopped. I saved again, and tried picking it back up. The train behind me was still stopped at its signal, thought all was good. Not too far in, passed another train that was stopped at a red signal, and eventually saw what looked like 4 middle DPUs in a really long train, before I realized two AI trains must've collided and become the super train. This really needs some attention. If this route requires 3 hour trips, I need the save function. I haven't the attention span nor time for that. I've attached my two save game files if this helps with diagnosing anything (changed extension to .txt for uploading)
Same issue with saves resulting in red signals, and AI trains. I've twice now, on two different scenarios, resumed a saved game, and run into a red signal on the line - for no reason, and it never changes. Also, as others have noted, the state is not saved correctly. Banking radio must be turned off and on again. Also, throttle position is saved, but the saved game starts with 0 power, then after a few seconds ramps up to the saved throttle position. AI trains: While stopped at a no-reason red, an AI train approaches the red signal behind me. AI stops, then continues through the red and stops just behind my train.
I'm currently sitting at a red (well actually I asked dispatch and was permitted to pull up behind the stopped train in front) after doing a save and load... And I have 3 trains behind mine. So my question is did the red signal ever change or should I just restart?
The update that indicated that the starting brakes were adjusted to reduce the charge wait times seems to have caused an unintentional "issue": when starting the "Magnet For Trouble" scenario, the train is rolling backwards, but really ought to be stopped. Because of the nature of this scenario with the upfront narrative, controls are disabled until that narrative is complete. Thanks!
Also, saving knocks off the engine Control switch, so you coast to a stop (as I did on a 1.7% uphill grade) and sit trying all sorts until you realise the switch (conveniently under the lip of the drivers desk - out of sight) is now off. I now routinely checking banking comm, control, fuel pump, engine on etc, after a save. 2023 and this stuff is still happening? Come on guys! I mean, we love you and all that, but please don't do this to us - especially as I bought 3 DLC this sale, to prove how loyal I am
