I'm trying to do the first actual run in journey mode which is the Laramie Yard to Hermosa Intermodal. No matter what I do this train absolutely will not move. 8000+ tons seems welded to the track. I set the brakes for lead-cut in, turn on the engine, gen and fuel cont switches, insert and set the reverser to forward, turn on the banking com and release the auto brake. I then bail off the independent brake and notch the throttle to 3 and let the power even out before switching on the lead truck sand and notching the throttle up to 4. The best that happens is I get to 0.6 mph until the train has stretched out a bit and then it's back to stationary. If I notch the throttle up to 5 it'll go to 0.2 mph before standing there spinning. I'm at a loss as to how to get the damn thing moving because nothing I've tried has worked

What your saying your doing sounds correct, but you really do need to wait around 10 15 minutes afterwards

when it speeds up to around 0.6 then drops that’s cause it’s able to move slightly with what’s released at that time, but the brakes are still too strong it counteracts it and is stronger

generally once it’s all released notch 2 power should be enough to start moving normally

Exactly. hells.high.lord666, after putting the auto brake to release, wait for the rear of the train to get to at least 75 psi. Check the small number on the MFD with rear written above it, not the big number with brake pipe written above!

Once the rear is at 75 psi, you can overcome the brake force still applied somewhat easily in notch 1-2. You should wait until you‘re around 85 psi at least if you‘re starting downhill however, so that your auto brake is ready to go.

Pumping up the rear brake pipe from 0 psi will easily take at least 10-20 minutes depending on train lenght. You can‘t just set off once you start the service.

Thanks for the advice guys. Worked exactly as you said. Took the time to run down the train and check the lead rear after reading here that they sometimes have the reverser inserted and got back to the front loco just as it started rolling backwards. Thanks again for the help
