I recently bought the Sherman Hill route in the xbox sale and I know this route is fairly old in the line now, but I fancied a run of this particular scenario and found, certainly in TSW4 at least, it doesn't work at all!

I can load into the map, spawn in the engineer's seat, look & walk around the cab, but CANNOT interact with literally anything, press 'Y' to get out of the seat, you won't be able to sit back down again, the head locos spawn in backwards facing the consist, plus because the yard is on on incline and you can't operate anything, you're doomed to roll forever.

The Class 66 idle sounds & dodgy screen icons are one thing and maybe it's a download issue? If not, come on DTG, sort it out, there's no excuse!

The sounds are from a 66 yes. Dtg couldn't get access to a real life sd70ace, so they had to get creative. For the us, there's not really many people who can provide sounds. Searchlight simulations who are the main guys have always hated tsw so they're out and freight operators are very restrictive about allowing access to sound recordings and they care more about a business

The class 66 and the SD70ace do share similar things in real life basically the class 66 engine is similar to SD70 ace SD70m 2 s the class 66 dont have dynamic brakes the SD70 ace SD70 m 2 etc do have dynamic brakes the engines used in both sound similar have that ying ying ying sound ..i noticed when i play using SD70ace in sherman or cajon the dynamic brake sound is weak compared to when i run ge ES44c4 ES44s

Class 66 isn't strong enough in snow and 0,4 or 0,6 step gradient, i'm playing the ECML freight services, and when start snowing and i have to stop at one track to let te Azuma to pass, the 66 wont move again in snow and from 0,4 to 0,6 gradients. I've tried everything to move again also with sand and notch 1 or 2 but wont move due to wheelslip, so i have to restart service hope whit no snow or rain. Don't know if i'm doing something wrong or the train struggles so badly in this conditions

  6. Sherman Hill is an excellent route!!!

The Class 66 is not used in official scenarios on this route.

I'll have a look for you, I don't have XBOX.

Do you have th eolder one or the newer one?

  7. I have been able to set up the cab, ie brakes and engine, but it was rolling.

In an issue I identified a year ago, the SD70 is not set up with brakes applied but the cab is totally set as off. Brakes and engine off. So the train is out of control.

I also saw this recently on Main Spessart Bahn.

The train starts rolling as soon as you start.

    This is so wrong.

The brakes should be ON that is set to LEAD and CUT IN.

Otherwise the train needs to be secured properly by way of hand brakes on every vehicle. Which it isn't.

FWIW I've driven this scenario in TSW3. After dealing with that initially wrong brake setup (as described above) I was able to finish it E2E. As soon as you start, configure the brakes correctly and hit it. The train will start rolling back, but there´s enough room so that you won´t SPAD. This scenario is actually quite funny and unusual ......... but no spoilers. ;)

  9. Thanks for the tips!

  10. I think it is quite imaginative! But still within the bounds of realism.

Well, anything that escapes from the boring ordinary A to B runs, I'd say. Sherman Hill ain't exactly famous for exciting journeys.
