I have this issue when I am driving a manifest train up sherman hill in the rain/snow. The train will end up stopping because of a loss of traction due to it being underpowered for the games physics. Can you guys make an update soon with maybe like an extra loco on the back of the manifests in order to get it up the hill? I was making a video and I had to start a new service because I just couldn't get moving on the steep grade
This was annoying me as well, happily it falls into an area where I can make unofficial changes. If you are prepared to install mods, you might prefer driving a manifest train with this: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/mods/c3-train-sim-world/c19-patches/i3417-sherman-hill-more-power
what about drivers on consoles? we are practically sentenced to DTG ignorance... :/ Give us some free parked locos nearby, to attach in case of slippy weather... the same situation is with SPG and HSC.
I was driving a Manifest last night, it started raining while i was on the 1.5 grade and slipped to a stand. Tried 20 mins to get the thing moving then gave up. I also had the odd game crash as well. I'm on PS5
That's because as far as i'm aware, slow train such as manifest often routed via Track 3 in real life. Too bad DTG didn't completed this section of track. The Main 1 & 2 are kept clear from slow moving train in order to give way for higher priority train such as intermodal and autorack and any other lighter train.
That makes sense, I suspect that they set the timetable up first when they were still expecting track 3 to be included, with the lower hp/t trains intended to use it. When they chopped track 3 they didn't go back and adjust the consists to suit the steeper gradient they were now going to use.
