… or soccer to our friends across the pond. OK, nothing to do with trains but I’m sitting here watching the football (Plymouth Argyle v Millwall) on the telly - sorry Matt and JD, I got all I wanted from the roadmap stream in the first 45 minutes - and as Plymouth take a corner short, I just got the random thought that I can’t recall ever seeing a goal scored from a short corner. And, I’ve drunk the best part of a bottle of Cab Sauv and this is the forum I happened to be on so, not expecting a reply, does anyone (who watches football) recall ever seeing a goal being scored from a short corner? If not, I wonder why they do it. And, yes, I have in hockey . That’s a different thing.
I have seen plenty from short corners and back in my playing days scored a couple of goodens from short corners. Personally I much prefer traditional knock it straight in the box corners though. It is very much a possession type tactic to try and cause confusion and create more decisions for the defending team.
